Since this post seems to be swarming with peolple consumed with the goings-on at Shade and in and around Central City, perhaps one of you guys have some information on this subject. Rumor has it that Shade received or is going to receive two students transfering from North Star....... any truth/information on this????

Yes, the two Walker brothers of wade and nash started at shade yesterday. 100% true because they didn't like the n.s. hoops coach. It happened fast after the n.s. hoops playoff loss and shade gets two good hoops and baseball players also. They don't go out for football, or at least not at n.s.

If you noticed, I put "academics" in italics to highlight my sarcasm. Isn't that what all the parents/kids say they're transferring for? Certainly not sports or if the PIAA caught wind, it would be a giant no-no.

I have never seen SO many parents willing to transfer kids, even move completely JUST so their kids can be at an "advantage" athletically. Where does the nonsense stop? Face it, most of these kids will never make a career of their sport. They will end up being old washed up former jocks who spend their nights reminiscing about their glory days. We can only HOPE that somewhere along the way, somebody teaches them something useful.

FYI, there have been some Shade grads that are very accomplished in their chosen careers.

Yes, I noticed. I was also just saying how i think it's weird that they transferred for "acedemic" purposes. I mean it's pretty obvious they transferred because of sports. Also, I don't find it hard to believe that Shade has had very successful graduates, every school has.

It will be fleegle, gibbons, or will. It should come out soon because the girls was in the paper today. If gibbons gets it, three-peat of a shade player getting it 3 years in a row, which is a great accomplishment for a small school!! All 3 were great senior ballplayers and great team players who were fun to watch. Too bad all 3 can't get something for it. Great season though guys!!!
