Guess running the opening kick back 84 yds for a TD, then being up 28-0 after 5 offensive plays wasn't much of an accomplishment, next to 136-0, 13-1. Looking forward to that week 8. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Richland was history.
It ain't over until it's over.

Oh Manfred don't lie if the Rangers shutout their first 3 opponents, and those 3 opponents were Shade, Ferndale, and Portage, and McCort scored on 8 straight plays against Pittsburgh Central Catholic you'd only talk about how great the Rangers are!

....Amazing what you can read in the paper the day after a game, isn't it. Of course, there is nothing illegal about this, but with the score 20-0 with only 1:11 gone in the second quarter, Bishop McCort successfully tried an onside kick against Somerset. This led to a 49 yard run and a 26-0 lead. Now I know what BM fans are thinking: That it was a GOOD time to practice an onside kick just in case they ever need one to get back into a game, or that it was there for the taking and it's Somersets fault (because they weren't ready and deserved to be taught a lesson ). Before the onside kick, BM had already scored 105 points on the season in basically 9 quarters. Something tells me, wondering if they would ever need an onside kick to get back into a game was the fartherest thing from BM's mind. ALSO, with less than 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and a 33-0 lead, BM scored to make the score 39-0. BM then WENT FOR TWO!!!! Now I tried several scenarios, but there is NO advantage of having 41 points over 40 points late in a game. So why go for two???? After the onside kick which made the score 26-0, BM went for two at that point. However, that made sense. There IS an advantage of having 28 points over 27 points. BUT 41 over 40???????? Sorry. Ain't gonna buy it.

I knew forest hills would bounce back with all the talent they have on that team and speed. I knew the coaches would get them turned around quickly. Good job rangers who could have thrown in the towel and they didn't. Mccort looks tough this year also for such a small turnout for players. What are the tie breakers in this conference. If they go by pts scored or given up, maybe that is why they are going for shut-outs and trying to score all the pts they can??

He probably has an "anti-mccort" binder laying around fill with things like this that he can complain about.

well i have to say... its the job of the opposing team to be ready for an onside kick and im sorry but a good call imo... pretty much put the nail in the coffin.. as for going for 2 i believe i read earlier they had problems with backup qbs and point kicking.. some teams go for 2 every time because of no kicker, not sure if thats the case but you play to win the game, not to appease saturday morning quarterbacks.

There are two schools of thought on this:

The first is the Steve Spurrier "it ain't my job to stop me...it's the opposing teams job".
The second is to not try and show up another team by doing these things.

You can definitely make arguments for both points, however I subscribe to the 2nd school of thought. The reason why this gets "so much play" on this website so to speak is the BM supporters have repeatedly stated they never run up the score while the rest of us feel that is far from the truth. It comes up in almost every thread along with the "r-word".

No matter which school of thought you subscribe to, "it is what it is".

I will play the devils advocate here with my friend Moldy though. Won't humiliating loses make these wussie kids tougher just like criticizing kids would?
