Boy, there was some pads popping tonight at the homer game! With the exception of one big run and a few defensive stands, Carroll got totally dominated. It was nice to see a heritage team quiet the critics. If you want to learn about class, just turn on the radio after a homer game and listen to coach Page's post game interview. Then again, he learned from the best, his father. The heritage conference couldn't ask for a better representative in the d6 championship! Good luck hc! Beat bg!

Totally agree. And as I've posted before, I think this class deserves it. From an 0-10 sophomore year to barely missing playoffs last year, they've had enough heartbreak.

I know BG deserves it, also, people have posted multiple times that they've been together since little gridders and I'm hoping this D6A championship turns out to be a classic with Homer getting the edge.

I'm actually starting to lean towards ending it at the conference level. maybe everyone should play a closed conference schedule, have a conference championship game or playoffs and end it there like in the old days. IMO things are just way out of balance right now at the district/state level in all sports and the piaa does not appear to have any intention of doing anything about it.

I'm definitely no hardcore fan of Gousey's or portage for that matter. Gousey has said some stupid things in the past. when you look at it, and the rules, for the districts, league affiliation is one way to be in a district. Curwensville, and Clearfield, by geography should both be in D6, however participate in District 9 due to their league affiliation. The District 6 Westpac teams have asked to go to district 5, but were denied, due to money i'm sure by district 6.

Just curious, all the years portage went undefeated then lost in the district 6 playoffs. would you say the d5 champs were better than them too since they were still playing after they beat every team in the westpac 48-6 or something along those lines? If a team portage beat this year wins the district 5 championship are they better than portage because they are still playing?

This kinda goes along with the other thread on what you expect in a winning team. Without saying who is better or not is not or should I say should not the ultimate goal be to win in the playoffs? What does it mean to go 9-0 or 10-0 if you lose in the first or second round of the playoffs. In my opinion nothing. You ask if those d5 teams are better because they won d5 than the undefeated portage teams not necessarily but did they have a more successful season yes in my opinion. As someone stated in a previous post on here the regular season is just for seeding. Do you deserve a pat on the back for having a successful season sure but in my opinion success is measured by the post season.

In 08 we defeated Windber 56-8 and they went on to win D-5 so if someone thinks they were better then it's not even worth arguing. As far as this year had HC played BG who's to say they're in the finals? If we played Homer again in the Semis we probably would have beaten them again. If Homer wins the Championship, and I hope they do, I will give them their due but to me the best way of determining who is better is the head-to-head.

Yeah you probably would beat us again if we were missing 2 2way starters. And if you want to see a BS ejection, the HC Portage game is on youtube.

I agree with you on the ejection but it still should have been penalized but idk if you were at that game or not but it really wasn't one.
