This past weekend, I was surprised to see John O'Korn at QB for Michigan.  I thought he was decent enough in HS, but I think Smith is better.
It ain't over until it's over.

Sorry, that shouldn't have been plural and I believe it was from Akron. At least that's what I was told, but I can double check that later in the day to be certain.
Wasn't he also offered by Purdue, Pitt, Navy, Michigan State, Virginia and Norte Dame or were those never official?
All the major recruiting sites don't have him having offers from any of those schools.  I know Pitt never offered him just because I keep up with their recruiting.

Where are all these qb offers posted at?   247sports, rivals, scout?
I have only seen camp footage of him playing dB.
Lighting up A and AA teams, not quite the same as playing against D1 level competition like QBs at bigger schools like PCC and Pine Richland.  I don't think that they have played against a dB duo like Gibson and Lowe from Johnstown all year.  Smith, Tutino and Daughters are more talented than anyone they have played as far as qb/wr vs. dB.  So of course they will look good.  Not sure that means he is a D1 qb.   Look at the stud Franco was, no big qb offers and it did not work out for him , now he is a D2 safety.

If he were 6'3" or 6'4", would he have gotten offers?

Nothing against Smith - he's outstanding - but to me the best player on the team is Elijah Parrish at linebacker. I've been to almost all of LV's games and he's consistently the most aggressive and dominant player on the field - every time. He is a total beast. (Here's a fun tip if you get to go to any LV games: Watch him on kickoff team if you want to see some awesome violence. He destroys everyone who gets in front of him)
Has anyone heard of any college offers for him? I know he's pretty short so I guess that might be a factor...

Hard to say, maybe if he was that tall he would have pursued playing QB in college more.  I think he did most of his off-season camping working at safety, not QB.  I think his offers are better for it.  He got Harbaugh's attention early on, and then got a few more power five offers working as a safety.  I'm not sure the WVU's and Louisville's would be around for him as QB like they are for safety.

For a small school in a rural area, the college recruiters tend to be more interested in camps, 7 v. 7's, combines ect. then actual game tape. So that's what he had to work with himself. I think he approached things the right way, and found a great spot for himself.

College QB recruiting is a different bird than other positions.  Those spots fill up quickly, and those QB prospect names are known by their junior season.

Thanks for clarifying! That's a shame though... would have been nice to see him at Pitt coming from a Pitt fan. Seems like they can use all the secondary help they can get. He'll definitely love playing for Caponi at WVU. I played for him in college and he is an awesome coach.

He's a beast for sure, was our WPA Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. No offers, word is he wasn't able to get out and camp at all. Parents had him working .
