Shame, shame
Re: Shame, shame
It's official. Because both parties failed to reach an agreement in court-ordered mediation, the case against Rene Portland will go to trial in May 2007. Because Monday's meeting was unproductive, the lawsuit will continue against Portland, AD Tim Curley, and Penn State University. Tysen Kendig, spokesman for Penn State, said, "The University regrets that all parties were unable to reach a resolution".... I'll bet they do.

Re: Shame, shame
Well, well, well look what we have here. Looks like all roads lead to Hattiesburg. Whodathunkit?
Pitt bozos continually go back to the last time they played PSU as some kind of end-all tale of how Pitt is better than Penn State. Yet, 8 seasons ago, Southern Mississippi beat the #### out of Pitt. Two great things about this? Southern Mississippi is continually mentioned in the lists of cupcakes Penn State schedules, and so is Toledo. Both teams beat Pittsburgh the last time they played them. Secondly, that jabroni D-nice, as well as other jabronies, have continually slighted USM's accomplishments, and continually slighted Conference USA teams and MAC teams.
Penn State beat Southern Mississippi in 1998, the first game of the season. In USM's last game before that, they beat Pitt by 34 points on New Years Eve. Graduation or not, PSU beat them by 4 touchdowns.
Penn State lost to one MAC team, and it happens to be one of the ones that beat Pitt. So that cancels out. What about the fact that PSU has beaten all those other MAC opponents, and Pitt has also scheduled MAC opponents? How about the fact that Pitt lost to a MAC team who might seriously have had the worst depth chart in the whole conference, and was a cellar-dweller for 70 years?
Is there is any example of the kettle being called blacker, I would like to hear it.

What TAE says is all true.
Not to mention, how many D-1A teams have been outscored 117-0 in back-to-back weeks???

Re: Shame, shame
What's all this have to do with Rene Portland and the black eye she has given Penn State? Coach used to hate it when posters wouldn't stick to the subject. Guess times have changed.

Re: Shame, shame
Thought you'd probably say something about "One Way" Solich under this topic.... Anyway, what bugs me about this whole Portland thing is, where's JoePa been? It's kind of funny. When a Florida State football player gets accused of rape, he comes out and says "When a pretty girl comes to your room, what's a guy to do". Then, when a Penn State football player gets in trouble for drunk driving, he says "What's the big deal? Nobody got hurt". But when a fellow coach gets into trouble, a coach who professes her innocence, where's JoePa? He clams up!! You would think the dean of coaches at PSU would come to her rescue, or at least say something encouraging on her behalf. Instead, HE BAILED ON HER!!! I wonder if he'll testify on her behalf during the trial in May? Well, at least no one got hurt.
