Pat Chambers
Re: Pat Chambers
I don't see the big deal. Not every season is the same length. Some teams go deep into conference and post season tournaments. Some teams play brutial schedules and some teams haves deeper benches that cut into playing time. These all factor into career statistics. I think the NCAA has bigger fish to fry than weather Fraziers 24 assists in a injury shortened season count in Penn State's alltime assist leading count. They do, so let's move on.
Penn State will have a very difficult time winning 4 more games. They just can't seem to close close games.

Re: Pat Chambers
Well, just about EVERY college athlete gets 4 years to play his sport. Naturally, some seasons are longer than others, mainly due to teams entering post-season play. But that's all PART of one season. Frazier got 4 seasons and some extra. Again, it hampers the stats of the guy he overcame for the title. And, of course, the NCAA has NOTHING to do with PSU's records. It's up to Penn State to decide who is their all-time assist leader. The NCAA, however, DID have the final say-so about Jordon Dickerson playing immediately after not sitting out following his transfer from SMU. Maybe the NCAA should concentrate on issues like that. And back to PSU's remaining games, 4 are on the road, with Iowa, Ohio State and Wisconsin at home. But you never know.

Then you are saying it is up PSU to decide if Joe Paterno still has 400+ wins.

Re: Pat Chambers
If a University does something really, really bad in the world of athletics, then it's the NCAA who can/should step in and dole out punishments. Therefore PSU has NO say-so concerning JoePa's record. Deciding who is an individual school's all-time assist leader involves nothing bad, but should be done fairly by the school. No need for the NCAA here.
Re: Pat Chambers
. but didn't the NCAA make the decision to grant the extra year of eligibilty for Frazier? Without that decision he would not have the additional games. So the NCAA has made the decision.El-Moldo wrote: No need for the NCAA here.
Re: Pat Chambers
Wow Mold you are really complaining about Frazier getting the assist record and how he got it?
This just confirms, even further, that you are 100% troll. You complain about Dickerson being allowed to play immediately. Next thing you know you'll want the NCAA to step in and tell Chambers he is not allowed to shave his head.
Re: Pat Chambers
I'm not complaining about Frazier getting the record. I'm complaining about the guy who now is in 2nd place getting cheated. Big difference.
Re: Pat Chambers
Either way, your complaint is pathetic and ridiculous. Take up your complaint with someone who cares, not that you will find someone that does.
Re: Pat Chambers
clueless: Yes, the NCAA DID make a decision on Frazier's eligibility to play this year. But it was at the REQUEST of Frazier, who petitioned the NCAA on behalf of Penn state basketball and the athletic department. Sooooo....the Nits ASKED the NCAA to enter the fray. I'm sure NO ONE will be asking the NCAA to make any rulings on PSU individual sports records. Big difference.
Re: Pat Chambers
So where are you circling this ludicrous argument now? Are you saying that Penn State shouldn't have allowed Frazier to apply for a redshirt? You do realize he got injured 3 minutes into the 4th game of his senior season, right? Isn't that an exact situation of where the redshirt was designed for?
