Portage beating an underwhelming BA team has nothing to do with Berlin handling the caliber of talent that Clariton is bringing to the party.  Remember that until last year, no D5 team had done anything against D7.  Clariton coaches have been seen at BG games for a reason..
clairton coaches have been at BG games ...if so it's not in anticipation of a game..it's because they're sore loses still holding grudges over a team that just flat out beat them....they've been bad mouthing the players from BG all season in public. They haven't learned a damns thing. I'd like to say I want clairton to get crushed, but it isn't the kids fault their staff is nothing but a bunch of grown bullies.

I think that Westmont is a fluke though winning as many LHAC games as they did... Bedford and BG could have put points over the century mark had they left their starters in the whole time...

Which was pretty equal to BG so hey that means they are also a top team contender in A state. Which also means they are better than the Johnstown, who lost to westmont. Which also means they have to be better than clearfield because johnstown beat Clearfield. And since clearfield beat the top 2 teams in AA d6 then PM must be better than all MAC teams and all D6AA....

Hard to discredit it ;)
Exactly, any scenario is out there if you look for it.  Like my theory for example, Slippery Rock is better than Alabama.

By all means I do not think that the lhac is a bad or weak conference.  It's usually a very strong one.  I think it may be a little down this year but so is the heritage and westpac.  I do think that each one of these conferences have at least one exceptional team in them.  It's deceiving to tell how good these teams are because they are enforcing the mercy rule week in and week out.  A conference is only as good as its best team and we are lucky to have a few good ones in our areas.

Between all of the top teams we have in the area, we should offer a very good showing in state playoffs.

Yeah WildCatz I've been saying all along, I don't think this is a banner year for the LHAC by any stretch of the imagination.  BG, Bedford, Somerset are good teams.   Johnstown's a dangerous opponent to play against, and Westmont, Cambria Heights, and Forest Hills about hit their ceilings with first round exits.

This league for so many years had Forest Hills, McCort, and Carroll leading the way.   Just feels different for the LHAC when your most successful programs aren't winning much.

So is Juniata going to throw a wrench into the district 6 playoffs? Or can Tyrone and/or Central handle them?

konjo78 wrote: About confreneces: LHAC is pretty garbage for an average out AA conference. I dont think they could compete with many of the Mountain conference teams. JHS had a fluke game friday, out top 5 from mountain against top 5 of LHAC id take the MAC
BG, Bedford, Somerset, Westmont, Johnstown    VS
Clearfield, Central, Tyrone, Huntington, Bellefonte
I def think advantage goes to the LHAC. I think even Forest Hills, Richland, McCort, or CC could handle Huntington and Bellefonte

first, the monkeywrench?  they ARE a D6 team...second...I posted earlier...they are VERY good...like a bigger, stronger Penns Manor is how I would describe them. If you want a feel for them: http://www.westernpafootball.net/news/juniata-adjusts-scoring-machine-after-slow-start-advances-with-42-0-win/
