Sounds like another excuse to me.

I get your point Dawg! And I agree you have spoken in depth on this matter before. Apparently the sun is too bright when you are on that side of Pleasantville Mountain that you can't see what the problem is. So you make up excuses about why you can never improve an average program.

From Tray's comments before, I gather it is his opinion to be average. Since "there is no football talent in Fishertown".

It's not easy to be great, but it can be achieved by anyone!
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

Marion Center
Purchase Line
Penns Valley
Chestnut Ridge

4 teams out of district 5/6

If you're doing what you're supposed to do, why not punish the teams that DON'T play up to thier level? And don't tell me that 20 points is enough punishment.

Ham,
I do not have a problem with Ridge playing a AA schedule but conferances like the LHAC make that impossible to do. All of the conferances need to work together or be abolished and adopt a system like the WPIAL has for all sports. You know it suprises me that the LHAC doesn't force all of its members to compete in all sports or get out like BM and BC doesn't wrestle for an example. I bet some of the lower finishing schools in the football standings that take a beating from them would like to get a crack at some revenge on the wrestling mat like Heights, Richland, CC and even Somerset. The restrictions put on Ridge and Bedford 5 years ago was all sports or get out and if remember correctly Bedford had a hard time deciding to join or not. It was a big debate and almost was not approved. Heard a couple of the coaches were strong armed into changing there vote to get the approval. Ridge decided not to. There needs to be a system that can adapt to a constant change of teams classification. North Star, Everett, Mount Union and Bellwood bouce back and forth between A and AA. Don't think it is close anymore but Penn Cambria and Central Cambria use to be AAA and Forest Hills is close enough that some day they could be AAA. AAA class is were the big problem is because there isn't enough AAA schools for a AAA division. Fix all these issues Ham and they will call you the GOD of all AD's of D5 & D6. Until the conferances stop thinking they rule the sports worlds of D5 & D6 I guess we will have to live with the system that is in place and we get to keep debating who should be playing who.

i feel dumber as a result of reading that

show me one conference where every school competes in every sport.

bellwood doesnt have a soccer team, there goes that conference
ferndale doesnt have a soccer team, theres that conference
forbes road doesnt have a football team, another one bites the dust.

i honestly feel stupider after reading that bosshogg, congratulations, you have lowered my IQ

Opinion Guy/Lion Dawg

I would very much like for you to spell out for me the things you think need done.

I never said there was no football talent in CR. I just said I don't see the talent the same as you guys seem to. I am not from Ridge, so I think I have a more objective view then you guys do. What I mean is that you know these kids so it is hard to look at them and say that they aren't great. They have had some pretty good players there lately, but would you really consider any of them to be "great" players? I wouldn't, but that is just my opinion. I also don't think that average is what you should strive for, and I don't think that is happening. Ridge has improved their record every year. (I know it has been against weaker teams) When they first joined the ICC they didn't go 7-2 or 8-1, so they have improved even if you can't admit it. Contrary to what you may believe a school boards job is not to produce a district championship or a state title.

I do not attend practices at Ridge, so I can't speak of what goes on there. You say that the coaching isn't that great. OK, that is your opinion and I can respect your opinion, but can you answer a question for me? How many coaches have you had? How do you know what good coaching is? What is good coaching? Just because someone runs plays that you wouldn't have run or devises a gameplan you don't agree with doesn't mean they are wrong. Maybe you are wrong. I think that the members of the CR staff have more football expereince than you do.

question...Jr. High football at ridge has been pretty good for a long time now...what happens to that talent when they get to the Sr. High level of playing?
