Crazy or Passionate?

I made it to the FH/CC game at the beginning of the 2nd half and I stood on th FH side. After CC made it 15-0 I heard comments like "They should get rid of all those coaches on the sideline and find someone who knows what they're doing." Last time I checked FH is a pretty successful HS football program.
I've never been apart of a program that has a tradition like FH so I wouldn't know what it's like. But from the yelling and and grumbling from their fans, I can only imagine some of these direhard Ranger fans go home and kick their dogs and stew over this loss until next Friday night's game.
1) Is it crazy for someone's weekend/week to be ruined because their HS football team lost on Friday night?
or
2) Is the "passion" of the fans why some teams have storied traditions to begin with?
I'm only using FH as an example because I was there last night. I'm sure the same kind of behaviors happen throughout our area and everywhere HS football is played.
