District Six AA Rankings Week Five

1. Central 3-1 Defeated Penns Valley 47-18 Next up: @ Bald Eagle Previous: #1

Central managed to rebound after the loss to Clearfield with an easy win over Penns Valley. Justin Helsel proved to be the hero on Friday night, as the senior receiver hauled in 14 passes for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Dragons head to Bald Eagle this week with the hopes of moving to 4-1.

2. Tyrone 3-1 Defeated Philipsburg-Osceola 47-8 Next up: @ Bellefonte Previous: #2

Tyrone handled business last week by thrashing Philipsburg-Osceola to move to 3-1. Senior quarterback Drew Hunter is off to a great start this season with 703 passing yard, 10 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions on the year. The Eagles will travel to Bellefonte on Friday in what could be a tricky game.

3. Ligonier Valley 4-0 Defeated Blairsville 57-13 Next up: Marion Center Previous: #3

Ligonier just keeps on cruising through the Heritage Conference without much resistance. Marion Center comes to Weller Field on Friday to try and stop Ligonier. Collin Smith is having a monster junior season as the Rams' QB, remember that name come playoff time.

4. Forest Hills 3-1 Defeated Central Cambria 39-21 Next up: Cambria Heights Previous: #4

Forest Hills rolled past Central Cambria to improve to 3-1 on the 2015 campaign. The Rangers will welcome Cambria Heights to town in what should prove to be a tough test for Forest Hills.

5. Juniata 3-1 Defeated Line Mountain 70-6 Next up: East Juniata Previous: #7

OK, Juniata must be playing video games and submitting their score. They can't possibly be averaging 68 points per game, can they? Chantz Swartz is having a ridiculous season already, he has 9 rushing touchdowns, 7 receiving touchdowns, and is averaging 14 yards a carry on offense.

6. Southern Huntingdon 2-2 Defeated Tussey Mountain 43-0 Next up: @ Northern Bedford Previous: # 8

The Rockets handled Tussey Mountain with no problem last week to move to 2-2 and climb up the rankings two spots. They have a tough game on Friday, as they must travel to undefeated Northern Bedford.

7. Huntingdon 2-2 Lost to Clearfield 50-23 Next up: Penns Valley Previous: #5

Huntingdon has lost two straight games, albeit to two very good teams. The Bearcats need to get back on track, and they have an excellent chance to against 1-3 Penns Valley on Friday.

8. Mount Union 2-2 Lost to Moshannon Valley 42-28 Next up: Bellwood-Antis Previous: #6

Mt. Union could not keep up with fast-paced Moshannon Valley for four quarters, and dropped to 2-2 on the year. The Trojans have another big test this week with Bellwood-Antis coming to town.

9. Richland 1-3 Lost to Somerset 61-24 Next up: @ Bishop McCort Previous: #9

Richland has a huge game this weekend against their big rival, Bishop McCort. The Rams are in danger of falling to 1-4 and their playoff hopes would really be on the ropes. It is almost a must win situation on Friday night at the Point Stadium.

10. Penns Valley 1-3 Lost to Central 47-14 Next up: @ Huntingdon Previous: #10

Penns Valley dropped to 1-3 after falling to a good Central team. The Rams have another tough test as they must travel to a Huntingdon team hungry for a win.

11. Bald Eagle Area 1-3 Lost to Chestnut Ridge 26-0 Next up: Central Previous: #11

Bald Eagle made the long trip to New Paris, and came up with a 26 point loss to Chestnut Ridge. The Bald Eagles are now 1-3 on the year, and must face top-ranked Central on Friday.

12. Penn Cambria 0-4 Lost to Cambria Heights 41-6 Next up: Bishop Guilfoyle Previous: #12

Penn Cambria is still in search of their first win, and they may have to keep looking. The Panthers welcome BIshop Guilfoyle to town this weekend, with the Marauders riding a 20 game winning streak.

13. Central Cambria 0-4 Lost to Forest Hills 39-21 Next up: @ Bishop Carroll Previous: #13

Time for Central Cambria to get into the win column with Bishop Carroll on the schedule this week.

14. Philipsburg-Osceola 0-4 Lost to Tyrone 47-8 Next up: Chestnut Ridge Previous: #14

Philipsburg-Osceola has another tough game this week as they welcome Chestnut Ridge to town.
