It's a stupid policy when used just to save money, fee, bus ride etc. wins and losses come playoff time don't tell the true picture of what a team can do. For example BC plays a tough schedule and won't even come close to being .500, but would anyone be surprised if they beat Saltsburg who plays in a very weak conference???? No.

I think most schools have that policy but they inforce it based on the situation. A couple years ago CC had an above 500 record midway through the year but their best player got hurt and missed about 3 weeks. They finished with a losing record by a few games but since their stud was back and healthy they let them go to the playoffs

I don't think a 2-8 football team, or a 5-15 baseball team, should be in the playoffs. Post season is earned. Sending them is like giving participation trophies to everyone.
