FM 5 McC 3 in yesterday's game.
PublicOpinion Writeup:
SIDELING HILL Fannett-Metal 5, McConnellsburg 3 Tuesday, at McConnellsburg Sideling Hill League game
McConnellsburg turned a rare triple play and got a solo home run from Hilary DeShong, but it couldn't come up with a victory over Fannett-Metal ... "We had runners at first and second," Fannett-Metal coach Jeff Knepper said. "I tell the kids all the time if the ball's in the air, go halfway. If it's on the line, freeze, and if it's on the ground, run. Well, we hit a line drive and the girls went halfway down the baselines before they realized what they had done. You can't yell 'freeze' loud enough — that took us right out of the inning." ... Spartan coach Michelle Eichelberger was proud of the way her team played ... "I'm not sure if I've ever seen a triple play before, but that was a morale-boosting inning for us," Eichelberger said. "I thought the girls played well defensively and hit the ball much better tonight. I'm hoping we're on the upward slope." ... The Tigers used two triples from Jackie Gordon and another three-bagger from Jess Johns to get most of their scoring done ... Fannett-Metal (4-5, 3-4 SHL) and McConnellsburg (3-6, 0-6 SHL) each committed 3 errors.

Hyndman lost to McConnellsburg tonight in 9 innings. 8-7 I believe.
