My son just called and said McCort defeated Tyrone in overtime. The final score was 23-20.

UPDATE:
From what I can find out the score at halftime was 3-3. McCort tired the score at 17-17 with under a minute remaining to put the game into overtime. On Tyrone's first posession in overtime they were forced to kick a fieldgoal. McCort score a TD on their third play to win the game.

Both Tyrone and McCort played amazing defensively. Hats off to McCort. Huge line really dominated. Only line Ive seen that compares to the Tyrone line last year. Will be a force in the District finals to be reckoned with.

I said the McCort line would dominate this game as it wore on, and I was right. Good job McCort. Too bad your ride ends next Saturday.

I would not say the McCort line dominated all game, but they definitly had their momments. This was an ugly game. Tyrone was not the team that I thought they were. I bought into the hype. Tyrone was a very mediocre team and McCort should have mercy ruled them. I cannot believe the turnovers McCort had. Also, McCort had a lot of penalities (some of them were bad calls though). I have to give it to McCort, they did everything to lose, but find a way to win. A prime example of this was when they spiked the ball on 3rd and 15 from the 19. I do not know why they did that, it has to be the dumbest thing any team has done this year. But on fourth down they found a way to get into the end zone (Abdullah Wadley who miraculously got his grades up for the game) Ironic that he made such a contribution. If McCort plays anything like this against Forest Hills, they will be embarrased and Scotty my boy Lewis will wish that he never left Sidman

My 3 cents worth- First, to McCort, congrats. You played well enough to win last night, barely. Any team that turns the ball over at least 5 times does NOT deserve to win. Tyrone wasn't much better in this dept. I knew Tyrone was in trouble when they tried the flea-flicker for their second TD. A team that has to resort to TRICK plays cannot win except by luck. They just don't have what it takes for old-fashioned, smash-mouth in-your-face football like the Tyrone Eagles of the past decade or so. That was shown last night. Now Secondly, if McCort's "HULKING" line is so dominant, why did they lose a few short weeks ago to the Rangers? SIZE, as has been proven time and time again, isn't the determining factor. Call it desire, heart, guts, whatever. The Rangers had more that night, will they be equal to the task next week? We'll have to wait and see. I, too, find it amazing that Wadley Abdullah (that's how it was in the program, folks, so it MUST be right) was able to get his grades up to snuff just in time for this game. Maybe someone in an official capacity with BM can tell us the details of this policy and what dates it entailed. I too thought it was totally stupid to spike the ball on FIRST and THIRD downs, thereby wasting 2 tries prior to OT. If Tyrone had used a little better clock management on their last possession of regulation, they might have escaped with the win. Also their punting game was pathetic. That really hurt them several times just when they needed a good punt. Where was Domonkos' great leg on those kickoffs? Stotler was much better at kicking it deep. A couple times he was at least to the five, and Domonkos barely made it between the 10 and 15. I thought one really great strategy on BM's part was waiting? until the second half to unleash Rizzo. Not only is he the fastest back for BM, but those fresh legs came at the right time to help the cause. Maybe giving Scooter Lewis the second wind he needed to score in OT. His first blast up the middle for 7 yards was his most impressive bit of running all night, to me. Yeah, I was there to see BM get its jocks handed to them, but I, too, bought the hype. With 4 Jr.s starting for Tyrone, could they maybe be slipping a little next year? They lose Wilson, Mingle, several other key men. BM will just go and "help" some more underprivileged kids with sponsorship aid. BTW- the BM cafeteria must have a pretty good menu judging from the looks of the Jones boys. BTW #2- How does a family afford to have 2 kids go to school at the same time and afford the , what, 9800 $$ yearly "tuition"? BTW #3- Is Wadley Abdullah in the same classes Jose Cruz took? That would explain a lot. Also speaks highly for the 'superior' education received at BM. My 4 cents' worth.

First of all, there are plenty of families at McCort that have 2 kids going to school at the same time and afford the tuition. I think you are trying to say how does a black family afford to have 2 kids go to school at the same time? That btw is one of the stupidest points I have seen on this board. How do you afford to drive the car you do and live in house you do? It's none of my business, just like it's none of your business how they afford to pay their tuition.
Now for some facts. Darnell and Wayne Jones are not brothers. I actually believe one of them is the other's uncle. Wayne Jones is the younger brother of former NFL player Artrell Hawkins. My guess is that they can afford the tuition.

Regarding the Jones' boys, what's being black have to do with it? I mean I thought they were brothers too when FH played them earlier. I mean 2 BIG guys, of the same color, in different years in school. Easy to think they were brothers. And, by the way, at $5,500 per year per student to attend McCort, it WOULD cost a family at least $44,000 to send 2 kids to McCort for 4 years. Alot of loot if you ask me, especially if you are NOT getting some kind of scholarship, with the emphasis on SCHOLAR.
