Congrats to Ridge, you guys sure did have one hellish wrestling team this winter. You beat Bedford 3 times this year and what did it get you? Why it got you 1 wrestler to the state tournament. Congrats on that major accomplishment.

Bedford has 4 going to the state tournament incase you forgot about that. Cook, Ripple, Kensinger, and Sill.

Now I know the excuses are going to start rolling in as to why more Lions didn't make the state stage. "Miller had a bad knee", "Phaler had a broken nose", "McDannell is only a freshman", blah blah blah. I think Cook is a freshman as well, and Tommy wrestled the entire weekend with a shoulder that was really of no use to him. He somehow managed to make it through to states. How could this have happened!? Sill really sucked it up when he had to and beat a kid that pretty well handled him in the first round of wrestling last weekend, and Trevin has been nothing but solid all year, so it's of no surprise to me that he's moving on.

What happened to "MWAH" Miller? The pin leader at Ridge. Phaler had an injury, but injuries are only what you'll let them be. McDannel is young and really a hell of an athlete at a supremely tough weight. I have no beef with this kid. I was just wondering how Ridge, the far superior team in the meets this year, could only send 1 to states as Bedford sends 4 this week.

Have fun with this...

Maybe if Miller had wrestled Makin when he had the chance earlier this year, he wouldn't have been beaten. He might have known what was coming. You can't run every day...

but we must remember, ridge has a successful program not because of how many kids it sends to states but rather the number of tickets sold for home meets...just like the football team

And also NBC beat Bedford in the regular season and they have no wrestlers moving on to the big show. I think some of Ridge's wrestlers and their "muscle" moves just don't cut it in the big matches. I do wish Downey could have made it out his senior year, he is a good kid. It will be a tough weekend for sure for the wrestlers, states is a whole different game. Close scores overtime matches, but wouldn't miss it for the world. Good luck to the Bedford wrestlers!!

Here is why Bedford has 4 kids going and Ridge only 1, but Bedford can't seem to beat Ridge in a dual.

Plain and Simple. COACHING!!! Creps isn't smart enough to realize the match ups he needs to win a dual. He's to arrogant to even care about what the other team has. If he knew how to move some kids to get match ups he might beat Ridge or NBC.

Bedford has 4 kids going to states and congratulations. However, the reason they have 4 going is because the toughest decision the coaches had to make this weekend was whether or not to shave coach Creps annoying facial hair!

That is sadly true and funny.

All I have to say is that you get out of it what you put in. You can't lay around in practice and expect to be a state champ.

HEART AND DEDICATION!!!!!

I do have one more thing to say.

This past weekend it was awesome to see the Bedford kids and the North Star kids so happy for their teamates. Every match all the wrestlers were right there watching and cheering. They wanted their teamates to win just as much as they wanted to win. They would run down out of the stands and high five and hug each other, jump up and down. I loved it!

Some of the Ridge kids were still talking on their cell phones 5 minutes before their match started. Yeah that really looks like they are ready to go.

One thing that is true of all Ridge sports is that they have teams not individuals. Thats good for most sports, but not for wrestling. Tough break, heck of a season for the Ridge wrestling program though.

Mr. Coach Creps puts more time and effort into getting his matchups than what you think he does, but sometimes when you loose the toss there's not much you can do about it.

and p.s. How can you not like his beard....it's 10 times better than Chuck Norris's

even jesus himself has tried to imitate the Mr. Coach Creps facial hair

(before yall jump on me for being blasphemous or not capitalizing the "j", know this....jesus in this sense is pronounced "hey-zues" and is reffering to a former Bedford student)

You also need discipline from wrestlers to make their weight and come to practice to win duals.
