PSU- Blue-White reaction

My reaction to todays Blue White scrimmage. First of all it justs looks like State has a swagger a look if you will. A look of confidence. I cant put my finger on it but just by watching them today these young men looked pretty confident on the field. Morelli of course played pretty darn well. I dont think there was alot of blitzing today by the defense, but it is evident teams who do will have to contend with the scrambling ability of Morelli and State being able to hit the big play with teams blitzing and matching States receivers man on man. They are saying there is a concern on off and def line with the inexperience there. Well it looks like to me they had a really good off season program as those kids on both sides of the line looked pretty big to me and in good shape. As long as Paterno keeps his nose out of things regarding the off I truly believe State will have or could have another outstanding year.

Even the white team played really well and it is supposed to be the 2nd string.

Morelli looked great. What was he 13/16 with 197 yards passing?
Hunt looked fine also on the few carries he got.
Dwill, Norwood, Butler all looked solid.
The only big issue I would have coming out of the spring practices is depth at QB. Cianciolo took quite a while to get in sync. If Morelli went down that might be an issue, unless Devlin can step in right away.

How about the safety play? King looked solid at Corner, but other than that I think the defensive backfield is a big ? for PSU.
Which again brings out the point was Morelli that good, or is the defensive secondary not that good yet...
The nucleus is there for sure, some guys just need to step up by the fall.

I expect great things from Knowledge Timmons in the defensive backfield. He has some kind of speed.

Did King get any reps at O?

All in all, the PSU offense passed for almost 400 yards. Isn't anyone worried about that secondary?

Defense only gave up 17 pts to what is probably the fastest offense in the Big Ten.

Multiple drives stalled inside the 5 I believe it was 2 without going back and looking again. It was decided before the game that inside the 5 would be only Power I, so the defense and offense knew what was coming. It was to be run between the tackles for guys to man up and try to smash each other.
The DBs might end up being better than last year's group. Many believe they have MORE talent with King and Davis at corner.

Coach or Frosty, is it true that Williams took snaps at QB?
Somebody tell me how Ciancolo did.
We'll find out how good that secondary is very early in the season, because Getsy is going to be a good test for that defense. He lost that one receiver for sure, but Akron has a pretty nice passing attack. Then we gotta play ND, and you know they are looking forward to showcasing Heisman candidate Quinn against a BCS team that has a new secondary. If we can stop Notre Dame from passing 15+ yards at a clip, I think we stand a much better shot at beating them in South Bend than what the naysayers would like.
