apples and oranges... which one is better and why? there is no right answer... it's all opinion.

marines are considered the more elite of the two, meaning it's harder to get in. and the army is obviously a tough place to be too. I think they both need to be complimented on what they do for us instead of praising one and bashing the other.

Well if I can make it into the Marines, then obviously its not that hard

But seriously they both have completely diffferent missions. The Marines are meant to be the first ones in and take it over, then the Army comes in to occupy it and prevent it from falling back into enemy hands. Both services do exceptional at their missions.

Now to show how each service can be better...

The Army has a much larger budget, therefore most of its equipment, bases, and lifestyles are much nicer than the Marines, who are still using gear from Vietnam. Because they have the superior equipment, they often can do things that the Marines cannot.

Now on the flipside the Marines are known for "doing more with less" meaning that even though we are stuck with crap, we still do whatever is asked of us.

The Marines are also the only branch that answer directly to the President. The other services (Army included) need an act of Congress before they can deploy.

So like Count stated, its apples and oranges. both have their goods and bads and they have different agendas, so it is impossible to say "which is better"

But yea, we definetly have the coolest uniforms

There is a reason why Marines do "more with less". If they gave you guys more, well let's just say that I don't think the world is ready to see what would happen there.

Actually ham, since the start of OIF/OEF they've increased the strength of the Marines from 175,000 to 180,000 with a target goal of 200,000 within the next 5 years
