Doesn't time heal all wounds? If your mom was alive, even though the situation was insane when you were 8, wouldn't you want to at least be on speaking terms? They don't talk very often. That's why I think there's something ridiculous going on there.

I can't even guess as to why he's not a citizen. Is his dad? My best guess is that there's different immigration rules for different places. Isn't that the case? I'm not sure.
