Bostick to commit to Pitt
Re: Bostick to commit to Pitt
You guys will never change. Just like with Hazelton. Every PSU fan was hot-to-trot about getting him to sign with PSU. When he didn't, we heard "Well we didn't want him anyway" or "We didn't really need him anyway". Now the same with Bostic. When he decides to go elsewhere, it's the same story.

Big difference Rhodes Scholar, Hazelton was offered a scholarship, Bostick was not. Keep thinking that Wanny pulled one over on PSU while you're trying to run harder.
I would have taken Hazelton in a second, but I'm quite happy with our depth at WR, as I am at QB.

Re: Bostick to commit to Pitt
Look, I'm not Jerry Lewis up here running a Moron-a-thon, so try and keep up. Penn State is not Arkansas. Our whole salvation did not hinge on signing Michael Robinson or Morelli or Devlin or Bostick the way the Razorbacks lived and almost died by that Mitch Mustain commitment. Penn State is not a program that needs to get that one great recruit in order to maybe squeak out a few games on his arm and them use him as a stepping stone to better recruits down the road. Pat Devlin was selected over Pat Bostick because he was a better fit in the eyes of the coaching staff. Everybody in America knew Bostick was gung-ho about Penn State. When Devlin committed, Bostick made the right decision by seeing the writing on the wall, and he went elsewhere. Whether or not Penn State gets Bostick, we have Pat Devlin, who we wanted more to begin with. Whether or not we land Hazelton, we signed Bell and Jefferies. It's that simple. We don't need Hazelton to make or break our team's potential. No doubt he's an amazing athlete, and Godspeed to the kid, but the one place PSU has good depth is at the WR position. Does that lighten the picture a little bit? Or do I need to draw you all a graph?

Re: Bostick to commit to Pitt
Derrick Williams was PSU's must have man... he has really been a boost to the program in so many ways.

We didn't want Hazelton anyway, and we were supposed to play Alabama!!!!!!!

Re: Bostick to commit to Pitt
Some viewing for Jerry Lewis errr TAE! Here are the stats from 2004 (Walt's last season) and 2005 (Cavanaugh's 1st season), they are interesting .....Now consider: Do most good coaches wish to run the ball? Yes! Did DW attempt to establish the run? Yes! Are Tae's attack of DW unfounded? YES!! Read on!!
2004-(Walt)
Rushing yards/game= 97.8
Passing yards/game= 260.0
Total offense/game= 357.8
Points/game= 27.1
Rushing attempts/game= 37.3 (51.9% of the plays)
Passing attemtps/game= 34.5 (48.1% of the plays)
Avg. yards/rush= 2.6 (without Palko's numbers= 3.2)
2005-(Cavanaugh)
Rushing yards/game= 116.8
Passing yards/game= 219.0
Total offense/game= 335.8
Points/game= 24.3
Rushing attempts/game= 36.5 (53.7% of the plays)
Passing attempts/game= 31.5 (46.3% of the plays)
Avg. yards/rush= 3.2 (without Palko's numbers= 4.3)
Your claim that Walt had left a well-oiled passing machine that DW screwed up - WRONG!
Vman's claim that Walt left Pitt with serious line issues - CORRECT, on both sides of the ball!
#s don't lie Jer, I mean, tae. Passing attempts did go down but only 3 per/game! Rushing attempts per/game were actually less than in '04!!!!
And last years offense averaged only 22 yds less that Walts' last year.
And Matt C did what DW wanted with O-Line issues!
Now I admit Walts strength was "O" but the dooming total sell out to a one dimensional offense you attempt to portray is like most info coming out of you & H Valley - Hogwash!!
And re. the UPS Bostick propaganda, I (like most Pitt fans) could have written the spin that ensued from the nitwits!
"He is not that good". "He is only being recruited by Mich, USC, ND & New Eng...we didn't want him." "We looked @ him @ lb".
I like Tae's "we had Bostick till Devlin committed" Uhh, first of all Bostic is still a Jr. but you knew several months ago that he was a UPS lock???? And re. Devlin who you claim to have stolen from a qb factory, isn't it
more truthful that he committed to Miami, went down there, realized he would not play right away, if @ all, then became a nitwit! So, in essence, you got Miami's sloppy 2nds and now spin Bostick to be your cast-off for Pitt!!!! I'm telling you I think all frosh @ UPS take a mandatory fundamentals of Pretzel Logic course!
And D'nice, I really enjoyed your literary masterpiece, posted earlier, it was very insightful! WOW!!
