Excuses, Excuses! Do we need a tutorial on classic defense mechanisms which attempt to rationalize avoidance? Nah, those are better for Fridays and Moldy often earns Stars on Fridays!

First off, we must recognize undeniable similiarities between Morganhole and Sappy Valley; then we'll explain Pitt attendance issue from a native of the Burgh's viewpoint:
Ask the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, Public Theatre, Washington Wild Things, Duquesne Dukes, Hundreds of High School Sports Programs, South Side Taverns, Heinz Hall, Benedum Centre, O'Reilly Theater, Arts Festival, Three Rivers Regata, Starlake Amphitheater, Waterfront Bars and Resturaunt, Major Shopping Malls and Districts, Major Universities, Kennywood Park, Sandcastle Park, etc. to leave the area so that all we have in our lives is Pitt football. That is how it is in West Virginia and State College!

You know suspend all cultural activities(Carnegie Museums, Theaters etc), social life( South Side, Strip, Station Square, Homestead, etc), parks and extensive social activities between Septmber 1 and January 2 of every year. Therefore, Pittsburgh will be like State College, Morgantown and every other pi$$hole town that has nothing going on and the only outlet will be Pitt football--attendance problem solved!!!

At that point, our choices would mirror yours. Go see the nitwits & hoopies or stay at home an give sis' the high hard one? Choice: hoopie & nitwit football over boning a family member.

Better go check the population of Centre County again. Penn State fans travel from all over the place. Maybe if you actually won your games, your attendance would go up. I'm sure the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Wild Things, who dont play baseball during the football months, are really taking away from Pitt's football attendance. Another misconception about all these museums is that people go there all the time. People go there about once a year, and that is being liberal. Exhibits don't change that much. It is largely the same stuff. I don't know one person who goes to Starlake every other weekend. People go there about twice a year, dude. Keep covering up the fact that Pitt has been given multiple opportunites on national TV to boost their program and lose every one of those games, some in humiliating fashion. THAT is why people don't show up. Not because there's a special on tickets at SANDCASTLE in the middle of November.

Once again, what a scandalous remark. Penn State has a lot of alumni and is one of the schools in the US for a lot of areas of study. That really is a mark against them.

Maybe if you actually won your games, your attendance would go up.Pitt has been given multiple opportunites on national TV to boost their program and lose every one of those games
Here are 26 selected televised games in recent years most all national, some regional! PITT 23 wins, 3 losses in these contest!
The 3 defeats were to TOP 10 teams and were games in which Pitt teams, that were admittedly inferior overall to their opponents, played valiantly against squads vying for the national title!

10/16/04 vs. *Boston College (9-3) W 20 17
11/13/04 @ Notre Dame W 41 38
11/25/04 vs. *West Virginia (8-4) W 16 13
12/4/04 @ South Florida W 43 14
9/27/03 @ Texas A&M W 37 26
10/25/03 vs. *Syracuse (6-6) W 34 14
11/1/03 @ *Boston College (8-5) W 24 13
11/8/03 vs. *Virginia Tech (8-5) W 31 28
9/14/02 @ Alabama-Birmingham W 26 20
9/28/02 vs. Toledo (9-5) W 37 19
10/5/02 @ *Syracuse W 48 24
10/12/02 @ Notre Dame (10-3) L 6 14
10/26/02 vs. *Boston College (9-4) W 19 16
11/2/02 @ *Virginia Tach (10-4) W 28 21
11/21/02 @ *Miami (Florida) (12-1) L 21 28
12/26/02 fs. Oregon State (8-5)Insight Bowl W 38 13
11/3/01 fs. *Virginia Tach (8-4) W 38 7
11/10/01 @ *Rutgers W 42 0
11/24/01 @ *West Virginia (3-8) W 23 17
12/1/01 fs. Alabama-Birmingham (6-5) W 24 6
12/20/01 fs. North Carolina State (7-5) W 34 19 Tangerine Bowl
9/16/00 fs. Penn State W 12 0
10/21/00 fs. *Boston College (7-5) W 42 26
10/28/00 @ *Virginia Tach (11-1) L 34 37
11/24/00 fs. *West Virginia (7-5) W 38 28
11/13/99 fs. Notre Dame W 37 27

That's 23 big wins there Nitwit fans no matter how you attempt to spin it!!
And I'll do you a li'l favor so you don't all cry(you are rather predictable)...
vman did omit certain losses like Utah & such but when someone makes a statement like noted above, it makes ya wonder????? The facts presented here are evidence that UPS fans do make ridiculous statements!!!

I guess 2005 didn't take place, and why didn't you include the Utah game again?

We're not talking about 1999. You guys are admittedly an "up and coming" program so you say, so that means you basically do not have the pedigree of the big time programs. If you are trying to BUILD a program, you need to give kids a reason to think you are on the upswing. 18 year old kids don't care what Pitt did in 1999, when Pitt isn't a big time program. If they did, all your recruiting classes would be really good, and your attendance would be at capacity.

Why exactly did you just post "selected games"? Are you trying to tell me that in 02-03 that the Pitt-WVU game (I dont even know who won), for example, wasn't even regionally televised? What about the Toledo game where you lost to them? And you wonder why so many people want you kicked off this site. I can make you a list of selected games where Penn State has never lost a contest since they started playing football.
and why didn't you include the Utah game again?.
Cause we lost to them obviously & it was my post pinhead!

We're not talking about 1999.
I listed one game from 1999!
Why exactly did you just post "selected games
Again it was my post!! You made the statement: "lose every one of those games" referring to Pitt! Simply not true: 23 wins, Fact!

Any other false/stupid claims you wanna make?
And you wonder why so many people want you kicked off this site.
Uh, wrong again, I certainly don't wonder about that @ all! I even received some friendly pms recently; Vman touched(rapidly becoming an underground success)! Am I concerned that rednecks, bigots & borderline KKKers have a problem with me??? I don't think so!!
And think about your statement: kicked off this site for posting FACTS about Pitt's record in the last 5 yrs??? I've been telling ya for weeks: Nitwits have a problem with facts!!

Yeah you posted all the games too. What exactly was the point of your "selected list"? I see quite a few losses absent from it.

Boy you have short term memory problems or are easily confused. We'll leave your psychological probs for another time!
For the 2nd time, You made the statement:
Keep covering up the fact that Pitt has been given multiple opportunites on national TV to boost their program and lose every one of those games
I just gave you a factual/verified wins response! Did I omit losses? Yes, but that was not the point; you made the blanket statement that Pitt looses "every' tv game. I gave you 23 examples of how untrue and ridiculous your statement was!!!!! Not 1, not 2 or 3 not 8 or 9......23 & again you're going to make statements to me like: "And you wonder why so many people want you kicked off this site'' I see why Nitwit fans may want me off; I rationally & factually demolish your off the wall ASSertions!!!

In what contests was the game hyped? Obviously a BCS game, so Utah. Obviously the Backyard Brawl, so WVU. We have a really hyped ND and Pitt game with both teams w/ former NFL head coaches, that game was hyped. Then we have Pitt lose to two MAC schools on TV and lose to Rutgers. Every one of those losses except ND was humiliating, and the TV audience walked away with a *yawn* over a team who is supposedly up and coming. Like I said, I know it goes against your football philosophy, but you gotta win those games against MAC schools and Rutgers. Its okay to lose to your bigtime rival once awhile, but not when you give up 700 yards of offense. Its also noty okay to be destroyed in a BCS game whenever the national media was already laughing at you getting the bid.
