Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
Moldo is "special".
As for Moye, D-nice says he belongs at Shippensburg. This was well before he had any inclinations towards a commitment. If Moye sucks, oh well. But Scout has him as a 4* receiver whereas Rivals says he's a 3*. I'm not real sold on either one of these sites and how they do stuff. It's all opinion. If Moye was in a passing offense and caught more passes, does that mean he's a 5* star player? If LeSean McCoy was in a passing system and only rushed for 200 yards in a season, does that mean he's a 2-3* star running back? It's almost the same nonsense we get fed prior to the NFL draft, when 900 college players you never heard of start getting hype as 1st round picks. What did Rivals dismiss about Chaz Powell that now he's a top 100 player? All of a sudden some offensive tackle from Siberia is a 1st round pick. It's all opinion based. These guys are no smarter at Rivals or Scout than me, Coach, Moldo, Ham, Hollywood, or the guy who goes by "Tim McGraw". All they have is access to combines. They don't know anything.

Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
Check the rankings. Penn State is currently 24th. I guess they are BACK as a national power. They have 8 four star, 8 three star, and 5 two star (?) recruits. National powers do not have 5 two star recruits. Notice how many two star guys Ohio State and Michigan have. That is why Penn State is an AVERAGE program.
As for the argument that Penn State finds more diamonds in the rough, forget it. Ohio State has had the following three star recruits the past few seasons: AJ Hawk, Troy Smith, Anthony Gonzalez, James Laurenaitis.
I look forward to watching the Buckeyes march into Happy Valley and march out with a win next year.

Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
Why does this guy always think that when Penn State news is posted, it is only in an effort to bash Ohio State?

I wouldn't yell to loud about Laurenaitis, he does not impress me at all. Did he even play in the championship game. Good linebackers do not go unnoticed in big games.

Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
That's hard to disagree with. I too think Laurenaitis is overrated, but he did have like 5-6 picks this season, which is very good for a linebacker. To be honest, I think Posluzny, Hawk, Carpenter, Schlegel, and Laurenaitis were all overrated. The best 2 linebackers in college football in the past two seasons were Demeco Ryans and Patrick Willis.

Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
Saying that AJ Hawk was overrated is just ridiculous. He was extremely productive and dominant for three years at OSU and he was the number 6 pick in the draft. Laurenaitis was a overrated this year, he should not have won a national defensive player of the year awar, but he is a big time player. Maybe he did not play well against Michigan and Florida, but he was all over the field against Texas, Penn State, and Iowa. He is a true sophomore and will only get better.
I respond to Penn State posts that make the school out to be better than they are.

Re: Penn State Recruiting News.
I said it before..you always hope for the guys with more stars, but it doesn't mean diddly for many guys. POZ and Hunt were 3* guys.
WVU class from 02 is a great example:
PacMan (top 10 NFL pick) Jones was a 2*
Dan Mozes (great C...one of the tops in the country) 2*
Chris Henry (arrested a million times, but a stud WR) 2*
Lorello and McLee 2*
I have never heard of any of their 3 or 4 star guys from that year. Slaton and P White...check their Stars. Slaton....A Heisman fave for next year and look at his stars. 3...then look at Gwaltney and his 5* (no longer with the team). I showed this before...check it out.

Check that out.... That is the Steelers roster.
Rutgers

Hofstra
Princeton

BYU
Utah
New Hampshire
Wisconsin Stevens Point
Ship
UTEP
Brown
Northern Colorado
La-Lafayette
Howard
Temple
Tiffin
Wonder how many stars those guys had????
Check out the champion Colts....
Howard
Rutgers
Temple
N. Ill
Lindenwood
Cincy
Ft Valley State
SDSU
Bama...A&M
N. Arizona
Samford
Midwestern State (That stud effort D. Rhodes had in the SB...from here)
Idaho
Baylor
S. Dakota State
I even left out teams from big conferences that aren't that great. Indy, Illinois, Wash St, Colorado State, etc etc... guys there weren't all world.
Not all good players are at the top 5-10 colleges in the country. Many guys that don't go to those schools are 3* or way less and they end up on just as many rosters as the HS studs do.
To end all that though.... I still would rather have the 5* talent to work with. many 5* guys have had things so easy though that they don't understand the work that 3* guys do understand. I think this is what made Poz such a stud. He knew how to work hard. Austin Scott... he didn't.
