(get this). Everything else in quotation marks was in the Pantherlair article. And I didn't belittle a 16 year old's mother. She belittled herself. Who let's their kid accept a full 4 year athletic scholarship to a college WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE SCHOOL????? Would you do that with your daughters? OOPS. Sorry. No analogies using them. You won't answer.

I needed a good laugh before lunch:

Again, I struggle w/ the concept that concern for ones' child is belittling? But you sure try to twist it so!

And you like bringing someones' daughters in the conversation don't you ....on some bizarre level that pleases you doesn't it? We'll rip on a junior in High School's mother & try to bring in another guy's daughter!!!!

Again your class shines thru!!!

Some questions about a kid accepting a full ride scholarship in football at a Division I college: 1) Do you let a 16 or 17 year old make the decision himself? 2) Do you accept a scholarship to a school WITHOUT visiting the campus? These 2 questions bring the parent's into the mix. They either did not give their son good advice, or they did and he did not listen to it. That's how he got into this mess. Also, did they visit the campus before committing? If they didn't, BIG MISTAKE. Who does that? IF THEY DID, they would have seen that Pitt is IN THE CITY. How could they miss it? This should have sent a red flag to the mother right away, and she could have told her son NOT to sign if she was worried, and avoided this mess. Or they DID see that Pitt was in the city and verballed, but they are using the "urban" scenario as an excuse to change their mind. Something is rotten in the State of Denmark.

Now. I know several kids who have full academic scholarships to various schools. I'm not sure they would appreciate their names being used on a site like this. I'm sure that AW's sponsor feels the same way about revealing his name on Bleachercoaches. It's just one of those things. You'll just have to take my word for it. Again, it's not uncommon for kids to get full academic rides. We're not talking Harvard here. UPJ, IUP, St.Francis does this every year. NONE of these schools give full FOOTBALL scholarships.

Why should I mention all the kids I know who have full academic scholarships? So that you people can bug them. How will you PROVE they do or don't anyway. Funny, no one will tell us which non-catholic football players at BM get financial aid. I've been asking THAT for years.....Next, since this is an athletic site, we mention names of athletes all the time. That's not name dropping. Why do we need to mention kids from the world of academia just because vman DEMANDS it?.....UPJ does not give football scholarships. But they DO give academic full rides. Just shows how more kids get academic scholarships throughout the country. Proves there are more chances for an academic full ride in the USA. Even the schools of the Patriot League and the Ivy league do not give out athletic scholarships of ANY kind for football......Still not sold on the fact that Lewis has a full ATHLETIC ride, but he may be going there for free. Same as the so called 30 other kids. I'm sure they get a mix of athletic money, academic money, and financial aid......I am smarter that YOU think I am. I don't need an 18 year old to judge me. We just heard how 17 year olds can make bad judgements (Cruz), why should you be different?....I am not losing this argument at all. I'm on the offensive......NOW, please someone answer my questions about Cruz: either 1) He and his parent's DID NOT visit Pitt before accepting a full ride (which is unheard of), or they DID visit the campus, KNEW it was in the city, and used that fact as an excuse to bail out on a committment to Pitt. Which was it?...O.K everybody. I have answered username. You can all respond now.

Hey username, since every time you enter a thread it gets dumbed down 40% by your presence, I have a question for you.

Is Mike Cruz related to Tom Cruise, and if he isn't, does he wish he was?
