This is beautiful......I won't name kids who have achieved an incredibly positive accomplishment BUT I'll take a cheapshot @ a kid from a disadvantaged background who has hung in there & will graduate due to someones' kindness & philanthropic gesture! But that's you're whole motive here isn't it......taking cheapshots @ kids from BM & their families!!!

One more analogy before we wrap things up. Let's say that vman's daughter gets an offer for a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at the University of Cincinnati. Now, several things can happen: 1) She, along with her parent's, can accept the offer without ever visiting the campus. Probably a big no-no. 2) Her parent's can send her to the campus with some friends and they can let HER decide whether or not to take the scholarship. An even bigger no-no. Or 3) She and her parents can visit the campus together and look around. They can then accept or refuse the offer. But if they have any reservations at all as to whether or not Cincinnati is the place for her, WHY WOULD THEY ACCEPT THE OFFER???? Especially if the letter of intent signing day is months away!!!! Now, which scenario fits the Cruz case? Also, what part did Ken Salem have in Cruz changing his mind?

Ok this is enough, vman has been causing problems on here the day he joined. Coach, i think something needs to be done. Moldy, though he is very opinionated, doesnt break the rules much anymore. Kids read this site, and i am sure no parent, even if it is edited want them to see that. I think the use of **&^%$#@ by no means constitutes someone to still swear on a public message board. Atleast not as much as some users of the board do. Like i said, moldo can be opinionated, but calling him a lowlife you know is out of line. People on here need to grow up and deal with it. Its called the 1st amendment, freedom of speech and opinion. People need to learn to deal with opinions.

Where do you draw the line with who is fair game and who isn't? I am under the opinion that anyone who plays sports is subject to criticism. I don't care if he's 28 years old or 5 years old. If my kid loses a game because he can't catch, obviously he's only 5, but did he not still drop the ball? I'm not gonna get on here and be like "my kid is a freakin' idiot he sucks and I wish he'd get traded to a different family", but I don't see anything wrong with saying "he dropped the ball and cost his team the game".

Neither me nor Moldo nor anyone else has said that Mike Cruz is a low-life ____. Moldo said nothing of his abilities. I said he was overrated. What's the crime, here? The kid is a local celebrity, just like everyone else who plays sports. He plays a competitive game in front of hundreds of observers, not by chance, but BY CHOICE. When you willingly sign up for football, or tennis, or the spelling bee, or whatever, you already know that people will be watching you perform. With the accolades come the criticism. And that right there is what you McCort dingbats have such a problem with. You cannot take it when someone says that once again McCort has a player who is very overrated. Hey, you can only go by what you see on the field, and when I see patterns, how can you prove it otherwise?

As far as his mother goes, this attack on Moldy is pretty unfounded. All he said was that his mother knew that Pitt Main was in Oakland, which is a close suburb of downtown. She then used that as an excuse to get her son to decommit from the Panthers. How this logic makes any sense to you, is beyond me.

And for the record, I think it is awesome when any kid from our region not only gets letters but also gets offers to play D-1A athletics.
