You can't always get what you want. Remember that next year when you're playing Southern Huntingdon, West Branch or Juniata Valley. Remember those glory days gone by. Games with these teams should really pack the Point. What is the Penns Manor mascot anyway? Guess you guys will find out next year at this time. What a legacy for McCort. After playing teams like Sharon in the early '90's, you'll be playing Homer Center next year. WOW how times are a-changing. And all for the sake of possibly going deep in the state playoffs. Forsaking really good competition for that. Double WOW!!

Did you know that single A teams with a 4-5 record can make the District VI playoffs???? What kind of competition is that? BM could actually be playing a losing team next year early in the playoffs. Unbelieveable. Go for it Kenny.

You know, people make fun of Penn State for playing teams like Florida International, Buffalo and Temple. Well McCort is basically setting up to do the same thing next year.

How about we move the McCort hate back to one of the other million topics that it's on and stick to the playoffs....

I agree with ham, that CC is a threat to be the dark horse...Everyone is already handing the trip to the title game to McCort and Tyrone. This is great for all the other teams in the bracket, there's nothing better than being the underdog with nothing to lose.

El-Moldo wrote:But what about the moral high road? Weren't we fed a steay diet of how noble it was for McCort to play up a class? And when did the players vote to go single A next year? Weren't we told that it was the players who decided which class to play in???? Was there some kind of secret ballot or something?
First off, you indignantly added the term moral to a move that was depicted as 'taking the high road'......And for the fourth time Mr. Reading Comprehension, the players voted in the late nineties , only as part of the decision making process, & they overwhemingly chose to 'play up'.....the descision has been guided by longer term outlooks > like playing down one cycle, then moving back up for the next four years to AA, as projected by enrollment in the lower grades (as would have been the case in the late nineties)! Now the projection looks like A enrollment for a longer term; therefore, the more logical move is to play @ the A level,if you are going to be there for a while!!

And secondly, speaking of moral high roads, it was you who chided BM for being stupid for 'playing up'...."they could challenge for a state title @ A".....& you added "@ least FH is smart enough to 'fudge' #'s to remain AA"......there's your moral high road Mr. Inconsistency!!!

Know let me see.....if you employed extremely creative accounting practices, per chance you can get your #'s down to single A & thusly you may have qualified for the playoffs this year!!!!! Believe It....Go Moldy!!!!!!
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

Username 6,

Remember the Portage/Forest Hills games of yesteryear? I had the pleasure of playing in 4 of them, what an incredible atmosphere. Packed stands and 2 or 3 deep all around the field. The Rangers dominated in the win column but, there were many competitive games and the Mustangs did pull some out every few years.

The direction these two programs are going would make for some very competitive battles in the future. Too bad it won't happen. I'm pretty sure Portage picked up Ridge for their open date next season. Renewing the Mustang/Ranger rivalry would have been awesome and supported by countless alumni.
