The short list.

Tom Callihan - does he return?
Bob Hammer - smooth transition
Any former players that are in coaching?

God, this is all that incompetent school board needs. Now they have to find another head coach! Since Bennett's boy plays basketball, maybe he can help pick the boys varsity BBall coach as well.

I'VE GOT THE PERFECT CHOICE.......SCOTT MEZYK.....YOUNG, FORMER PLAYER, GREAT PERSONALITY, VERY GOOD W/ YOUNGSTERS, COACHED @ UPJ RECENTLY, NO BAGGAGE.......PROBABLY TOO GOOD OF A CANDIDATE TO CONSIDER...BTW, LITTLE KNOWN FACT: MANY MOONS AGO S. MEZYK & VMAN RETIRED UNDEFEATED IN 2:2 BASKETBALL COMPETITIONS...LUCKILY WE DID NOT FACE TOO MANY BIG MEN!!!

BUT STAY TUNED TO: AS THE HILLTOP TURNS
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

That quote is coming over from the football board where it says jokingly (i hope) that Nick Bennett will try to become the new Hilltopper football coach---and now as well as the new basketball coach

I know Hollern recently got the famed extension at McCort, but any chance of a teaching and coaching job for him at Westmont?

Scott Mezyk would make a great coach but I think he is living out of the area at the present time. Other options to consider would be Matt Rogerson(former Westmont Grad and coaching experinece), Paul Byers ( knowledge of game and prior coaching at Richland), and someone who I hear has some interest Ryan Durham(current Johnstown 8-9th coach...knowledeable,young,personable). I heard Ryan had applied for the Johnstown job and was a consideration. Also, what about McCorts assistant coach Sheridan.

Coach Hamer as WH's guy would make it a pretty smooth transition, but does he want to be Head Coach? I hear Mr. Glennon, the Elementary BBall guy for WH, may well be interested. Maybe Sheetz Coffee Cup guy... he has good ideas.
I wouldn't hire Byer -- I don't think that he'd actually do well as a varsity coach in the LHAC. Callihan?? Hell no! There's no chance of that. Rogerson? No.. Durham? Only if you need "Iron Man" on DVD --- RIGHT NOW............ He's more shady than the trees on Luzerne Street.
Mr. Sheridan? He's a Crusher through and through. Plus, I understand that he's next in line for BM's Head football job anyway.

I like Glennon but would a high school coaching position be feasable with work schedule?
