Congrats to BM on the win. I thought Beaver was the WPIAL number one? If it was Seton-LaSalle, shouldn't the 2nd place D6 team have played them? Just wondering because that would make more sense to me.

And yeah, anyone have word on how Somerset did?

Beaver was the number 1 seed, but I think he was saying that Seton LaSalle was in fact the best team in the WPIAL. (Seton LaSalle is 20-1 and its only loss came in the semifinals of districts which made them the 4th seed.) As for Somerset they won 7-2 and will face West Allegheny in round 2.

Well Colin Harrington was virtually unhittable for the first 6 1/3 innings then once again like the D6 game the wheels fell off

Balanced attack again by the Crushers with numerous people getting in on the act


McCort outplayed Burrell but caught some bad breaks(after an apeal one run was taken off the board on a tag up from third, then the tying run at third with a line drive double play to end the game) but hey thats baseball.McCort had a great season no doubt about it.

Solid nucleus for next season with Harrington Vignero Kastelic Lowry Freeman

Rumor has it that Lowry will not return to play baseball next year due to the fact that football offers will be pouring in and won't want to risk injury. Just the word on the street. can anyone elaborate?
