Anybody watch the Wilmington game on PCN? It was ridiculous. After being down 14-0 at one point to West Catholic, Wilmington battled back to take the game to double overtime, stopping WCs quarterback on the 1 yard line for a 2 point conversion, and taking home the AA championship in style 35-34.

Congratulations to Wilmington, heck of a win. They made all of the PCN panelists eat their words by calling for a Burr blowout. Wagner's run in OT was amazing and one of the gustiest plays I've seen. That and West Catholic's Center who could barely walk yet refused to come out of the game. I was surprised at West Catholic's decision to go for 2, but it almost payed off. One for the ages.

Also think that WC made a mistake by trying to go for a TD on a 4th down on the 1 yard line. Should have kicked that FG and take that minute remaining to stop Wilmington.

Honestly I think this was a hard fought battle and could have gone either way, but some of the play calling and decision making by WC coaches were poor. They could have pulled away with a win easily, but let Wilmington hang around for way too long. They shot themselves in the foot with that one.

Aliquippa destroys Central? Just because Wilmington was able to upset them that does not mean Central could match up with any of the teams Wilmington beat just because the game was close. It is a game of matchups, if you look at it that way Tyrone absolutely DESTROYED Central, and Central barely squeaked past FH despite FH playing horribly offensively and Central scoring on crazy plays. That doesn't mean Tyrone and FH would be able to beat Wilmington by any means. There's also no telling Central would've beaten Wilmington if Runk didn't get hurt anyway, they seemed to play better in that game in his absence.

Also watched the AA championship game and wonder how the West Catholic fans don't run their coach out of town on a rail. Granted I will never coach in a state championship game and it is difficult to be critical of a coach who has his team in the championship game, but that may been some of the worst decision making I have ever seen in a football game at any level.

How does the coach not attempt a field goal on fourth down from the two yard line in a 21-21 ball game with 1:20 to go in the fourth and your opponent with one time out left? He couldn't have been worried about his kicker because the kid was three for three on extra points (and made the first one in OT) up till that point.

Then he goes for two and the win in the second overtime. Didn't he learn from the failure of the play at the end of regulation.
