I'd say terrible odds of a triple header. They can make more money having a solo game or having a game paired with another game or a gals game. IUP makes no geographic sense for those teams based on where they're located.

I'm surprised IUP wouldn't be a good choice. Especially if the PIAA tries to schedule the games where it's equidistant for both teams.

Here's what Mapquest provides:
Serra Catholic--Estimated Time: 1 hour 16 minutes Estimated Distance: 54.31 miles

Shade-----------Estimated Time: 1 hour 12 minutes Estimated Distance: 58.61 miles

Sounds about as equidistant as one might be able to get.

IUP would be a geographically smart location, BUT it would make the trip much further than it had to be.


Anyway, I missed almost all of them.... I am surprised, but here are locations

NB vs. Sewickley @ Greensburg (Hempfield HS)
Shade vs. Serra @ Greensburg (Hempfield HS) That makes sense
Tussey vs. Kennedy @ Monroeville (Gateway HS)

51 miles for Sewickley

That's dropping the ball a bit...IUP would have been more equidistant for the two.
The trip would have been in the 70s for each to IUP.

104ish miles for TM
81 miles for Kennedy

Further total miles that IUP for these schools too. Would have been 70 and 95...


Maybe IUP isn't available that night....

I'd say a Great thing, But the P.I.A.A. is in it for $$$$$$$$$$$ & I'm not sure they'd make enough at one venue for the price of three games :roll:
