Nice spin, moldo, but now your comparing Top 25 for Pitt to the Top 5 for Paterno. I would hope that the winning percentage would be better.

There's no spin here. The sample is TOO small. No comparison.

JoePa is 1-0 in his last road game vs. a top 5 team.

When was the last big road game Wannsplat won?

Is the Rose Bowl considered a road game?

Rodriguez lost that game. Wannsplat did everything in his power to not win.

The only point I was trying to make from my previous post is that it is harder to win against top teams and its stupid to use that record to bring down a coach.
But since the sample size for Wannstedt is apparently too small for Moldy and since Pitt fans love talking trash on Penn State, heres a fair comparison: Dave Wannstedt vs. Charlie Weis.
They have both been coaching in college football since 2005 so that should be a fair comparison.

Since 2005, Pitt has played 9 games against top 25 teams going 3-6.....Dave has 27 total wins in that span with 1 bowl appearance (possibly the most pathetic game I have ever watched).

Since 2005, Notre Dame has played 16 games against top 25 teams going 5-11.....Charlie has 30 total wins in that span with 3 bowl appearances.

So since 2005, Notre Dame has played 7 more games than Pitt against top 25 teams and Charlie still has 3 more wins OVERALL and 2 more bowl appearances than Dave..... How bout them apples.....

I am not even a Notre Dame fan......I really don't even care about the Irish at all. I'm not trying to hype up ND and I wasn't even trying to bring down Pitt on here either. I actually used to be a Pitt/PSU fan until I realized that Pitt fans are such haters so now my team is only PSU. It seems most Pitt fans in this area "get off" trying to bring down PSU and JoePa. The main point I was trying to make from my previous post is that it is stupid to talk sh** on a coach's record against top teams (in particular JoePa/Tressel against the top 5), but of course that turned into Pitt fans talking more sh** on PSU.......thats why those teams are ranked in the top 5, because they are harder to beat, have better athletes, etc.....its just common sense and a stupid argument for talking trash on a coach and a team...But I guess that is the philosophy of most Pitt fans in Western PA...Hate on PSU more than caring about your own da** team. I guess thats why Pitt only sells out MAYBE 1 or 2 games every year....but some things will never change I guess.

B-I-N-G-O

and those one or two sellouts are due to WVU or Notre Dame fans who travel, because we all know that "there are so many other things to do in Pittsburgh on gameday" for Pitt fans to do rather than go support their "team".

Are Notre Dame and WVU fans forced to purchase a three or four game package of tickets like Pitt would always make Penn State fans do? Yet another sad attempt to inflate their attendance numbers. SHAME

Are the Pirates having a free give away night? I remember when Pitt had to change the time of a home game because of Jason Bay bobblehead night.
