Hey LoneWolf- You've continually bashed the Westmont coaching thru several topics. Can you please be a little more specific than just "their coaching sucks"? Now you've started in on Ferndale. Can you please point out the specific flaws in their performance? I'm curious as to what you'd do differently with these programs.

GRAPE... Go to either teams games... I have been and it is sad!!! No fundamentals of the game are being coached! Players are not in the correct positions, play calling is beyond stupid! Poor game plans, wrong players on the field at the wrong times, kick coverages don't have enough kids on the field... Man goto a game.. thats all I got to say!!!! When you get destroyed by more than 3 to 4 touchdowns on a game to game basis it is the coaching!!! PS you also wanted my ideas... 1st look a t Penna's pass happy offense this is not arena football! You got to run the ball in High School Football!!!! Westmonts offense is too pass happy also.... RUN THE BALL!!! Look at the top teams in each west pac Portage great running team.. LAC is the same with Fhills and McCort!!! No more free coaching....YOU CAN"T HELP THE HELPLESS COACHING STAFFS!

I hate to bash coaches because they usually are a dedicated bunch and sacrifice a lot of time. However, in the case of Westmont, I'm going to have to agree with Wolf. Westmont gets the numbers and they do have some talent. They might not be good enough to have a winning record, but only one win and multiple blow outs indicate that it's more than just athletes. Ferndale, on the other hand might be a combination because they just don't have the numbers.

What I find funny in this debate about the importance of coaching is that all of you who are bashing Wolf because of his straightforwardness are also the same who blasted Crissafulli and believe that Roman will resurrect the basketball program. So what is it? Is coaching impotant or not? Before giving your opinion, also consider that Football is probably the most coaching intensive sport there is. There are so many variables involved that extend well outside of the regular season.

Wicked...

While the coaching is easy to blame at Westmont, I'm not quite sure this is the case. I don't like seeing Westmont lose every week (just look at the username) but I feel that we finally have a coach who truly understands the game of football. Heck, Vman even likes this guy! Comparing this years team to the 5-6 team 2 years ago under McLaurin, I honestly feel that this team was better coached and more prepared, just has bundles less talent (am I really comparing a team to a team that was 5-6 in order to make a point? Eesh...). Nevertheless, I don't think you can blame any of the blowout losses on coaching, because if you were at the game, you could tell that the kids were just outmatched. The only two you could pinpoint were Central Cambria and Somerset. I was furious whenever Westmont attempted to go for the 2-point conversion at Somerset, until I gained the knowledge that it was the kids' idea. How can you, as a coach, look your kids in the eyes and tell them that you don't trust their desire to win enough to go for 2 to win the game.

While I may not necesarily agree with what you say in regards to Coach Glennon, I do respect the manner in which you presented your opinions. The great thing about this site is hearing people who's opinions differ from your own, and it was nice to see someone who didn't just say "THE COACHING SUCKS! WESTMONT IS AWFUL BECAUSE OF THE COACHES! I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL!"
