LHAC Week 11.
Re: LHAC Week 11.
Bellwoods pass defense is good with a few ball hawks in Danny Noye and Taylor and Minori seems to put a ton of pressure on other teams qbs. They also are pretty good against the run and seem to swarm to the football. They have a solid qb that has put up good numbers and seems to spread the ball around well and a good running back in Taylor. Plus the game is in Bellwood and Bellwood doesnt lose often at home.

touche, i was just wondering. I dont know much about Bellwood this year.
Re: LHAC Week 11.
Let's not forget that BA and BM have one common opponent -- Mo Valley. I was on hand for both thrashings, so I feel as qualified as any to offer some thoughts on this matchup
I'll premise this by saying that the MV defense was awful all season long. Injuries forced some pretty young players into the lineup, and the dropoff was definitely noticeable. Outside of the Claysburg-Kimmel, West Branch and Southern Huntingdon games, MV allowed 380 yards per game in the regular season.
So, looking at this matchup, I don't think you can look at the offenses, but the defenses. Both teams easily racked up the yards and points against the Black Knights, who allowed nearly 30 ppg and 370 yards per game for the season.
The Mo Valley offense, though, had far greater success against BM. Derek Southern had 93 yards at halftime vs. the Crusher starters, while the entire MV offense had just 77 yards total vs Bellwood in the entire game! The MV offense was one dimensional all season -- the only had 11 passing yards total in their five wins! However, I think with a half-decent passing offense, either BA or BM can be thrown on. MV had several receivers open in the playoff matchup, but couldn't connect. Same can be said about BA, as MV threw the ball at will two seasons ago in the playoff matchup that BA won 13-7.
I like BM's passing attack moreso than BA, but I think the BA defense is just too tough. When MV had success through the air against BA two years ago, the running attack was non-existent and the BA secondary kept everything in front of them and prevented the big play.
LaRue and Varga are as good as any backs BA has seen all year, but Hayes knows how to take away team's strengths.
I like BA by a score.

Re: LHAC Week 11.
Not predicting any scores, but I will wager, there won't be a repeat of '07 in the 1st half.... In speaking of the B-A / BM game. I expect a classic. If both teams are healthy, I'd take B-A by 2 scores minimum, but the Devils will be without Beech and Noye, could be close or an upset. In other games I'll take Central over LV (as long as they aren't looking ahead, LV is good enough to bite you if you overlook them) H-don over Ridge, Rangers over CC (bigger than the 1st time) J-town over Bellefonte not big...-7,
