Big Ten...err 12... Divisions

Post by Head Roadie »

What does everyone think about the Big Ten Division alignment and names.

Personally, Legends and Leaders???? c'mon.

If they don't want to go East/West or North/South, then how about Great Plains and Great Lakes or something a little better than what they chose.

The alignment itself looks pretty fair. Does anyone know if this is football only alignment or if it's for all sports?

I hate it. Almost as much as I hate the Stagg/Paterno championship trophy the winner will get.

I had to go to the Big Ten website to see for myself, thought this was a big early April fools' stunt... wow.
Now everyone in State College will be griping because PSU isn't in the "legends division"...too funny.

Sorry Jack, but the Big 10 has a very respectable record head-to-head to the SEC.

dating back to 2006 the big 10 is 5-6 against sec in bowl games, but that does include 2 embarassing losses for the buckeyes in the national title game to lsu and florida. plus i fully expect them to be 0-3 vs the sec this year with msu going down to bama, psu to uf, and ohio st to arkansas. and their overall bowl record i believe is under .500 as well since 2006

and why is 2006 the magical year that we have to date back to? Just accept the fact that the B1G TEN (terrible logo!) is right there when it comes to head-to-head match ups with the SEC and that is a very bold statement saying that they will be 0-3 in their games this year. Florida is not that good this year (neither is Penn state, but you cannot think that this Florida team is very good) and the other two games are even match ups as well. I think they're going to be some of the best bowl games on the slate.

I think the Big Ten could easily go 3-0 in SEC bowls this year. Lord knows how many coaches will find other jobs and not be helping with bowl prep with Florida. I do think Alabama holds a slight upper hand with MSU but this is the best season for MSU in a long time and they have a lot more to play for than 'Bama coming off a championship. I look for Ohio State to beat Arkansas. I believe going into last season the Big Ten was something like 24-23 in the decade against the SEC with all but one of those games being played down south.
