I think the public schools would gladly count all of the kids they don't get, if the privates had to count all of the numbers from the the multiple districts in their region.

And finally, psycho you can rant all you want about consolidation, but no type of consolidation is going to make kids taller, stronger, or faster. Now calm down, you don't want the nurse to have to come in and give you a sedative do you???

Taller, faster stronger.....more excuses from your PSEA union manual?

There's nothing wrong with the kids around here. They are very adequate athletically and academically. The problem is that the schools are so pitifully small and uncompetitive that you end up with managers and marching band members on your football teams. There is ZERO competition for spots. Some coaches coach not to win, but in fear of losing kids who quit if they make it too hard or are required to commit -- kids that in the days when it was competitive either did not come out, quit early on or were cut. Therefore their programs are throttled back to make them acceptable to these kids who view the "sport" as simply another after school "activity" to be enjoyed at their leisure. this attitude negatively affects the kids who want to be there and for whom the sport they are playing means something. This creates the joke of competition we have in the area and really places the Forest Hills and North Stars, who try to do things right, at a huge competitive disadvantage ---- the have almost NO competition.

Don't blame the kids say oww. The system is hurting them. Consolidation is not the answer but it will be a huge step in the right direction. And when Corbett gets vouchers enacted accountability will be back and kids who want to be challenged to improve their academic and athletic skills won't have to pay tuition to go to a West Catholic.

I'd have to agree with Psycho. There's far too many A and AA schools around here. And lack of competition really does hurt our area.

lakersfan24 wrote:Tiger, you're thinking too simply. Seidel can make plays without clear running lanes.. And the FH line was just as good as McCort if not better. Just because McCort made it to the single A state championship doesn't mean they had a better line.

Say what you will now, but Nick D. will struggle without those lineman. People called me crazy last season when I said Newton wouldn't have nearly the year he had. People called me crazy when I said Seidel would be the best player in the conference last season. And people called me crazy when I said if FH plays Central they will avenge last season in win D6.. All of those happened with the exception of FH playing Central.. instead FH beat a team that beat Central. If you think #23 is going to put up anywhere near 1,800 yards behind Glacken, Ondreick, and a bunch of first year players you are crazy. Infact of Dudukovich rushes for 1,500 yards I'll never post on bleachercoaches again.. a pretty strong statement from a Ranger fan.
You shouldnt be posting lakersfan......

FH should be scheduling a Karns City each and every season. Or Portage. Someone with an offense they havent seen.

Karns City was a 2 year deal. The first year FH KILLED them, the next it was reversed. Just the way it works sometimes.

So the reason our schools are no good is because they are so small? So, because they are small, they are no good. Hmmmm.... but in the state playoffs they lose to other public schools that are of the same size. But make sure I get this right, we lose because we are so small. But yet, the teams we played were the same size.

Meanwhile, our AAAA and AAA schools, which are <ahem> bigger than the A and AA schools, also lose in the state playoffs when they play other schools from around the state. Schools that are coincidentally, <get this :? > the same size as our AAAA and AAA schools.

So the solution to all of this mediocrity is that the state will merge all of the big and little schools in each county together to make one consolidated school. And then this conolidated school will play consolidated schools from areas that typically have better teams than we do. So the teams that weren't good enough in the past will now be combined with other mediocre teams to make one consolidated mediocre team to play some consolidated teams that usually beat the District 6 teams individually. So now you are going to consolidate everyone, and then we will be better because a consolidated team of kids with no size and no speed will be better than a consolidated team of kids who are bigger and faster.

Oh, psycho, now it makes perfect sense. 8)

By the way, I am willing to let lakersfan post again if someone can convince psycho that he'll get extra tapioca pudding at dinner each day if he promises not to touch the computer anymore.

say oww --- here's how it works: When you CONSOLIDATE away the uncompetitive piss ant schools, instead of having managers and band members on your football teams they won't have to play football -- they can manage and play their instruments because you will have enough kids to field a team. And if the coach is allowed to coach, they might even get a competitive team out of it.

...but of course not everyone will get a trophy anymore and there will be those who win and those who lose and I know the PSEA doesn't like such harsh, traumatic things -- but that's the way it works.

Now if vouchers pass, and they will be pushed hard soon, the piss ant schools will die a natural death instead of being forced to consolidate. Cannot happen soon enough.
