Jack, If you took sports away from McCort and relied on parents sending their children there for religious or educational reasons in this day and age McCort would close. Secondly, I think you will find Westmont and Richland's state test scores are higher than McCorts. As fas a schlorship money catholic colleges give kids coming from catholic high schools more money than from private schools. Lastly and somewhat off subject the only reason Richland has had a good football team the last couple of years is we are keeping our boys at home. Ten years ago half the boys on our team would be at McCruit. This is why McCort is so disliked. You come into our districts take our best players, beat us with them and then throw it in our faces.

I looked that up before and Westmont's and Richland's scores are way up there. I'd like to see numbers on the scholarships claim. If I remember right, Westmont and Richand have the highest graduation rates and rates of students who continue their education in the area (this was a report on public schools, where exactly do you find results for private schools???) I give McCort credit for their results, too, but to say that McCort is heads and tails above all other local schools smells like a bucket of kaka.

Well here is something most people don't realize. Especially our friend jack. Private school teachers are lower tier teachers. They are the teachers who could not get into public schools. They are teaching at private schools for $13,000 and trying to get years for experience. So if accepting the lower tier teachers at a lower cost is a better route for my son/daughter's education, I must be missing the big picture. Fill me in jack.

Do you notice that when the facts are laid out that they can't refute how quickly the McCruit supporters calm up? I am a public school teaher and I can quarantee you that every McCort teacher would leave and go piublic if they had a chance because of the money issue. That doesn't make us better teachers because of our pay but it does say that McCort teachers are one who haven't been able to get hired at the public schools. So where are you Jack, Crimsom Ghost andother McCruit supporters. Go ahead and try to refute the facts. And by the way when a kid leaves McCort leaves and goes back to public he HAS to go back to where he lives, he doesn't get to choose to go where he wants to that is the law!!

The bottom line is this guys...Private schools have the ability to get students from any nearby district. Thats just how it is and how it will always be. Its the students choice to want to go where he wants to go. If he happens to be an athlete, why not go where the program is successful. If you want your athletes to stay in their respectable school districts, then develop better athletic programs for them to excel in.
On an even bigger not, get ready for a new generation of "so called" recruiting if pa passes vouchers. This will allow any student from any district to go where ever they want. Build up your programs and facilities and you will get more athletes! It is going to come down to "what can you offer the kids as a district"......AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE. So stop whining about "recruiting" and start amping up your football programs because soon enough everyone can "recruit".

Hey bottom. It's against PIAA regulations to transfer for athletic reasons, whether a student is recruited or transfers on his own. THAT's the bottom line.

I'll fill you in. The MAJORITY of teachers at McCort have been there for more than 10 years, easy; some have been there for 20-30 years. They are not there for the pay. They are dedicated to providing education to families that desire a private education. A bonus might also be the environment, discipline is enforced, there is no chaos on a daily basis that you can find in some public schools. There really isn't a revolving door for teachers there. Sure some young ones come and get some experience and move on for better pay, but that is by no means the "usual". AND because most have been there for so long, they have developed a comprehensive, well-thought out curriculum that has helped students do extremely well in standardized testing. McCort students are challenged everyday in the classroom with AP courses, honor classes, or academic level courses that are available to help prepare all to go on to college. One thing I have seen, McCort students tend to have developed study skills. There is homework every night. You really can't "bash" the education they receive. These students go to college very prepared.
