Maybe it should be called the "Laurel Highlands Sports Network". Then no one's panties will get in a wad. Since I thought of it and posted it here, I freely give up any and all rights to said title. I want a large T shirt and ballcap w/ logo, and a lifetime pass to all covered events. Just some small compensation.
It ain't over until it's over.

I believe they lost the "messageboard wars" but had online football show up until a few years ago.Athens/Cat wrote:I believe there was/still is an LH Sports.

Yeah, for sure. Just look at YouTube and the revenue opportunities that it offers the 'common man'. With incentive like that combined with the asthetically pleasing content that video offers over say...print...regulasr people can reach a much wider audience. Obviously this is seen in other fashions with breaking news being broadcast from common mens' cell phonessay_oww wrote:Can the common man take back the media through the internet? We may be seeing the beginning of that trend now.

just an idea for you guys...but post game "press conferences" from coaches. When reading the paper, (haven't had a chance to read the Trib, or Daily screw up since moving to NC) you can't really feel the emotion that the coach has when talking to reporters. That, and from what some of the coaches told me when I was living in PA was about 1/3 of the time the quotes were rearranged to make them look better, or weren't even said in the first place. Just an idea. Look forward to watching the first game!

maybe even key players. And not just right after the game, but after they've talked to the team. maybe set up something in the HS gym or something. That would be cool, and also "trend setting" for the area up there. They do it here in Myrtle Beach NC, and it's pretty cool. Once you do that, the papers will just wait to ask their questions during the "press conference" and wn't be able to misquote coaches! lol

Just what some of these egos need - pressers

peyton, In NC or SC for that matter they do not have a gaggle of tiny uncompetitive piss ant schools like we do in Greater Johnstown area where we have 15 seperate independent school districts with a population under 120,000. In NC and SC there are county wide school districts --- many less school districts -- easier to do what you are talking about.

very true...but it would still be pretty cool to see some of the coaches and school I played for and against. Not sure who all the coaches even are up in PA anymore. I know Schmitt is still at NS. Everyone else still the same in the WestPAC?
