Another great interview today!
Re: Another great interview today!
He retired because he was notified he wouldn't be the future head coach because he devoted too much time to the 2nd Mile to also coach. The retirement had nothing to do with the scandal. He appeared to be a good man running a great charitable organization. Many schools award professor emeritus status to longtime retired coaches. The university negotiated his retirement before any of these allegations started.

Re: Another great interview today!
I've asked this couple times now but no one has answered my question. Sandusky was investigated in 1998 and was set to retire in 98 or was set to leave Penn State coaching staff. Was he not asked to come back for one more year though? Didn't he come back for one more year and actually retire or leave the staff in 99?
Wasn't he in running for Virginia head coach job going into the weekend and then Monday announced by Virgina they were going another way? 2000 or so?

It was in the Freeh report and was stated his retirement and not being offered the head coaching position had Nothing to do with either. Just another assumption people make.
