Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
I was not aware of northerns size. Ive heard they were tall but not giant. And from what the stats show they really can move the ball through the air. That makes me feel a little more like it will be a close game. That is unless bellwood can stop the pass If they can i can see them running away with it.

Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
Just from an outsider looking in, I know(personally) how well Bellwood plays in big games. This team is exceptionally coached and prepared. Not saying that Northern Bedford isn't a formidable opponent but I just don't think they'll be QUITE prepared for the magnitude of this team. Like I said this is just MY opinion on this game....It's up to NBC to shut me up and prove me wrong.

Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
Finally, Northern Bedford is back on Bellwood's schedule.....it's nice to see. It has been forever since they last played and I personally enjoyed having them play each other, the games usually were very competitive. With both teams in the ICC, I could never figure out how they didn't play, but that is history now and this years game couldn't be even bigger. At stake is an undefeated season, champion of the ICC Gold Division, and major points for the district playoffs. NB's passing attact is very scary, but falls right into BA's strength on defence. BA has always stepped up it's play in the big games, and I don't see why they wouldn't in this one either. It should be a very good game and I hope the stadium is packed friday night to see this game. It might be close in the first half, but BA will pull away in the second half.

I think it will be a tight game early but Bellwood takes over in the 2nd half. BA 41-19

Both teams have athletes, absolutely no question about it. I have seen many of these kids during the track season/ and they are very impressive. It seems to me that this will be a classic run versus pass game. If it is a nice evening it favors NBC. If it's sloppy give the edge to Bellwood. This game could go either way but don't underestimate district 5 in this one. I think less than a touchdown wins this one for either squad.

Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
I agree with you oldguy, the weather could have an impact on the game. There is rain forecasted for friday, but when do the forecasters get it right? I'm hope for a dry field, I want to see both teams at their best.
Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
It's obvious that both teams are full of weapons. It's probably gonna come down to whatever guys step up, their team wins. Who will step up? who will win the battle up front? what defense will emerge? what weapons will be effective and which will be shut down? Friday night the tale will be told...and I think it'll be a good one.

Re: Bellwood at Northern Bedford
Finally this matchup is here. I agree with BA Scorekeeper, it's a shame this game hasn't been on the schedule for all these years for many reasons. Bellwood rarely gets tested in the ICC, and NB is one of the better teams in the league year in year out, so Bellwood could use that extra tough opponent on the schedule. As for NB, there have been years when they don't see real good competition until the playoffs. Two years ago NB was 11-0 and completely untested in the regular season, then lost in the D5 finals to North Star. A mid-season game against the Blue Devils could have done that team wonders. But anyway on to this weekends game.
The Running Game:
Surprisingly enough, Casey Gray was held in check by Southern Huntingdon last week. The key for Bellwood is to get Gray going. There are many good players for BA, but Gray is the money maker. If he can get lose, I don't think NB can catch up. NB needs a great effort out of MLB Taylor Pressel. He has continued NB's run of strong MLB's. He has the quickness, size, and speed to make plays sideline to sideline. NB has Conner Kagerise and Caleb Ebersole getting most of the carries. It isn't a great rushing attack, but if Bellwood sells out to stop the pass, these guys are dangerous enough to hurt you.
The Passing Game:
Bellwood always seems to have a quarterback who plays their system perfectly. Guys who take care of the ball and have the ability to make the big play. Seth Worthing fits that mold perfectly. Worthing has 8 TD's to just 2 INT's. His 300 plus yards rushing makes him a threat to tuck it and run as well. His brother Cam Worthing is the big playmaker on the outside. Speed speed speed. The Panther's have good athletes in the secondary and have done a good job putting pressure on the QB. Unless you live under a rock, you know all about NB's passing game by now. Three 6'4"/6'5" wideouts and a QB with plenty of arm. The only issue with NB's passing attack is Over's 11 INT's. He must take care of the football for NB to have a chance in this one.
The Bottom Line:
I really don't see Bellwood being able to completely shut down Northern Bedford's passing attack. I think NB will score 3 times. The key is how well NB's defense plays against BA's explosive offense. IF NB can hold BA to 3 scores or less and win the special teams battle, they should win the game. That's a huge IF. Whichever teams defense shows up will win this one.
