WestBranch vs. South Fayette

Post by odoyelrules »

Both teams were at the Thomas Tournament in Bedford Jan. 25th and 26th, some results and a projection below.

106 SF by fall (SF backup 106 was at Thomas Tournament, likely regional qualifier is back in the lineup now)
113 SF by fall
120 SF by dec.
126 SF by dec. (Ging SF advanced further then Brown WB)
132 WB by fall
138 WB by fall
145 SF by dec.
152 SF by dec.
160 SF by md
170 SF by md
182 SF by dec.
195 SF by dec.
220 WB by fall
285 WB by fall

My adjusted Thomas results say SF 38, WB 24. I'll guess that WB flips 1 of the 6 SF decisions above making my guess SF 35, WB 27.

106 Andrew John, SF, pinned Joey Couteret, WB, 4:40
138 Parker Bumbarger, WB, pinned Aaron Fonner, SF, 1:39
145 Brandon Keck, SF, dec. Clayton Green, WB, 2-1
160 Jared Walker, SF, maj. dec. Myers, WB, 10-1
170 Mike Fetchet, SF, Maj Dec. Lucas Kristofits, WB, 13-1
182 Brad Haney, SF, dec. Vince McDowell, WB, 7-4
195 Zach Walker, SF, pinned English, WB, 3:12

113 Seth Carr, SF, 1st
120 Mike Carr, SF, 2nd
152 Grant Fetchet, SF, 3rd
160 JJ Walker, SF, 2nd
170 Mike Fetchet, SF, 3rd
182 Brad Haney, SF, 5th
195 Zach Walker, SF, 3rd
285 Bryce Christoff, SF, 7th

120 Abe Albright, WB, 7th
132 JP Hayes, WB, 2nd
138 Parker Bumbarger, WB, 7th
152 Luke Slippey, WB, 7th
170 Lucas Kristofits, 4th
220 Buzzy Maines, WB, 2nd
285 Morgan Selepack, 4th

Boy seeing this info provided made me think different of west branch chances. I thought they would do well, but it doesn't seem like they will advance with their 1st match. Nice info, thanks! It really puts things into perspective on the meet between the two.

Yeah, looking at that I would have to go with South Fayette. So, did West Branch get exposed at Thomas or just a bad tourney?

South Fayette is a tough team. The carr bros have been wrestling up 2 weight class for the duals. That gives them a lot of flexibility. They are tough down low and tough up top.

I was a little surprised when i saw that but if they play their weight loss plan correct that really makes their team stronger.
