Re: PENS
Wonderful trade by Shero... Solid player as veteran leadership without giving much up. Hopefully he works out as well as last two Shero plucked from Dallas.
Hey Konjo... Show your face and explain why the Flyers are sneaking up on worst record in EC. I'd love to hear it... Really.

Re: PENS
Jarome Iginla is 35 years old and a free agent at the end of the season... The "two players nobody knows" are both still in college... it could be years until anyone knows if Calgary was robbed. Jerome wanted to play in Pittsburgh and after almost 2 decades of service Calgary granted him a chance to play for the Cup. I'm sure the Flames could have held out for a better offer but at the end of the day they didn't... Time will tell how good or bad of a trade this was for the Flames.

Re: PENS
Iginla mentioned during his press conference that he wanted to play with the two best players in the world. It's a shame he has to settle for Crosby and Malkin, since Franzen and Giroux don't play on the same team, right Konjo?

So, I guess the only way we will see Konjo on this thread again is if the Pens do not win the cup?

Konjo is a typical little punk that likes to troll on other teams message boards and only say something when it may benefit him or the joke of a team he likes to support. I'm not a busy guy by any stretch but the last thing I'm interested in doing is visiting a Flyers board and tell them how awful they are.... grow up, joke.
Claude Giroux... 39 points this year... your 2013 NHL MVP!! Only 17 points behind Crosby in 5 more games played.

Re: PENS
No Neal,No Martin, No Sid, No Geno... and the Pens beat the closest team to them in Conference with 6 goals scored by 4 guys not on the roster last June. Ray Shero should be appointed GM for all teams in Pittsburgh.

Re: PENS
I've had my hopes and dreams crushed by the Pens before so I'm trying to stay as level as humanly possible right now but this is a dang good hockey team. I really don't know that anyone with any common sense (looking at Konjo) could point out a real weakness right now other than missing almost $40mil worth of players due to injury. Just think about the guys they have coming back soon that didn't play last night... Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Letang, Martin, and Fleury.... that squad could compete in an all star game, easily.
The work Shero did at the trade deadline looks even more impressive right now... If he doesn't win GM of the year in a total landslide the person that does should feel ashamed. All of the pickups without moving away a single roster player is simply magical.
There's not much I can say about Iginla... the guy is a savvy veteran that plays the game the right way and pretty much mistake free. Almost feels like back in 09 when Billy G jumped on board. Sure he's not the player he was 5 years ago but there isn't a team in the NHL that didn't want him a month ago.
Everyone was so tough on Morrow the first few games after his trade but I think he has pretty much shut every single one of them up. He is a guy that no one wants to play against... he does the dirty work and does it well. If Pens are going to make a deep run he will score at least one huge goal late in a game, guaranteed.
When the Pens acquired Douglas Murray all I read was about how "awful and slow" he was... granted he's not the quickest fella around but he knows it and rarely gets out of position. He has a knack for blocking shots too.. guess that isn't difficult when you resemble a refrigerator. Find one NHL skater that says he wants to go into the corner with Murray and I'll show ya a liar, the guy is an animal. When I grow up I want to be just like Douglas Murray.
Last but not least comes Jussi Jokinen.. Shero stole him for basically nothing and talked Carolina into paying part of the tab, amazing. The guy is versatile with a capital V. He can play 4th line center or first line wing and do it well. His ability to take faceoffs in the D zone during a PK will be huge in the playoffs.
Combine these guys with the firepower the Pens already had and I just can't see them losing a 7 game series to anyone in the East but as I've learned the past few years none of that matters much. Should be a fun few months to be a Pens fan... also it's a great time to be a Flyer or Flyers fan... if you enjoy a golf course to a hockey rink.

Re: PENS
wheres the like button? haha I have enough flyer fan buddies, that I'm enjoying that almost as much as the Pens winning 24 out of 27.
