Hey Kirk, maybe PSU will offer a scholarship to Franco Harris's cardboard cutout of The Godfather. If the cultist JoeBots thought that it would "restore" Saint Joe's reputation, they'd offer a scholarship to Ted Bundyand claim that whoever turned him in did their duty and reported him to his/her "superiors."

Man, I so wish JoePed was still alive to face the music, but he took the easy way out and died. He would have looked so good in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit.

El-Moldo wrote:I know you Nits put a lot of stock in rankings and things. The latest 247 rankings of 2014 college football team recruiting as of 7-17-13 shows Penn State ranked 22nd, and Pitt ranked 37th. PSU has 2 offers left, Pitt may take in as many as 10 more recruits. Let's see what happens by LOI Day in February.

Pitt fans thought these sanctions were really going to help their program. It obviously hasn't. They haven't beat out PSU for one recruit yet. I believe when these sanctions came out many Pitt fans felt Pitt would be ranked around 22 and Penn State would be ranked around 70th. What happened?

I NEVER heard one thing about Pitt licking their chops over the misfortunes of PSU football. Frankly, I, in no way, compare PSU and Pitt recruiting. Seems like you NITS do though. Recruiting is not a competition between 2 schools. Both display their wares, and hope to attract 17-18 year old males to be part of their football program. Sometimes they strike gold, sometimes they strike out. It's that simple.

Maybe Bill O'Brien is a better coach and recruiter than anyone anticipated, Penn State fans included? Again, he is luring some quality players, but certainly is getting a complete recruiting class. The stars appease fans, but everyone knows you need a lineman or two.

The jury is still out on both new coaches, and that's a fact.

And I would think Pitt would have capitalized, if they didn't go through the coaching change fiasco. I mean Wannstedt was a pretty good recruiter, Pitt might have had a few more wins, I would assume Wannstedt wouldn't be 0-7 against Penn State right now.

Wannstedt should've somehow been the head of recruiting somehow for Pitt and not had to worry bout coaching

The guy could recruit, and I suspected with this kind of year in Pennsylvania, he would have done just fine.
