I think Franklin has the the talk and recruiting down, if I were a PSU fan, I'd be most interested in seeing him as a coach. He seems like a good ambassador and speaker, but it still comes down to what happens on the field. Can he close the gap on the field with OSU this year, or next?

I'm just saying it's common sense. Franklin wants the best players in the area. It's a sales pitch. It's not to get Alex Paulina or Nick Bowers. It's to get Jordan Whitehead and Sterling Jenkins, etc. The bigger competition for those players will probably be Michigan and Ohio State, not Pitt. Maybe Paulina comes into play closer to signing day if they need to fill, but not a priority. Bowers I doubt will even get interest.

You are right all coaches do say crazy things during opening pressers. Chryst mentioned winning a national title at Pitt during his. Is that realistic? I don't think so.

Pitt may be losing a big staple of their Pittsburgh recruiting if Engram leaves.

I think Engram got credit for one recruit this year (WR Jennings who isn't even from PA). I'm not sure he's the recruiting juggernaut many (Pitt fans included) think he is.

He seemed to do pretty ok for himself at Vanderbilt. First winning record in conference in SEC at Vandy since 1982. First 9 win season since 1915 (he had 2). Vandy had 4 winning seasons since 1982(Franklin had 2 of them). Vandy has been to 7 bowl games since 1955, Franklin took them to 3 of them. Vanderbilt's record over the past 3 years (24-15) 2-1 in bowls. Pitt's (19-20) 1-2 in bowls. All while playing in a better conference. If I was a Pitt fan, I'd be a little more concerned with my own coach.

He was pretty crucial in bringing in Tyler Boyd. I'd say that is an important one. I'd be surprised if Jennings was the only one he was the lead recruiter on.

If Robert Foster would have chose Pitt, Tyler Boyd would be attending somewhere else no matter who was recruiting him for Pitt.

I'm not a PSU fan, so I'm not worried about Franklin. I'm a Pitt fan, and I'm not worried about Franklin. I think PSU fans like yourself are obsessed with Pitt fans being obsessed with Penn State. I'm not, I just hope they lose every game. I don't pay attention to what they do on a daily basis. Not saying some Pitt fans aren't bad, because they are and I hate a lot of them. Its just I don't care about Penn State to follow Vanderbilt's record or if Jame Franklin wears boxers or briefs.

You seem pretty tuned in for not paying attention. I think it's funny that Pitt fans are obsessed, but don't expect Penn State fans to react. For the most part, I don't think most Penn State fans care about Pitt, I just happen to like and enjoy the rivalry aspect.

LOL you asked my opinion. I've been on BWI maybe, and i seriously mean maybe twice. I'd guess you've been on Pantherlair much more, whether you use it for entertainment purposes or not, you seem to care more about Pitt than the PSU fans you claim that don't. Agree?
