Re: Woodring to Tyrone
Wilson is a good hire. He's a home grown Tyrone guy who has been with the program as a player/coach all his life. He's a younger guy (mid-late 20's) and will bring a new energy to the program but at the same time will keep the tradition alive. Good choice.

Hello Raven,
Best of luck to the new head coach for the Golden Eagles.
He'll need to get into the districts the first year or the club (Hookies, Bullpen, etc.) coaches will
start to fine fault. They can be brutal.
By the way Raven do you have any idea on the youth league coach who applied at Glendale?
I'll bet you may know the individual well.
Hope to see you at Mansion for a game or two this coming season.
The king will be on the home sidelines.

A spin off of your post that has me intrigued, does Tyrone have the team coming back to make it to Mansion Park? Who in AA will be contending this year with Central losing their best athletes along with Richland? Are we bound for the classic Tyrone v. Forest Hills for the AA Title? Maybe this should be its own post (haha)?

I can't speak on other teams, but Tyrone will have plenty back to make a run

Don't count Central out. Definitely will be a different team but very talented young bunch.
You play to win the game!!!

I kind of got that out of the article about Wilson. He was kind of saying the same thing without coming right out and saying it directly.Eaglealum wrote:I can't speak on other teams, but Tyrone will have plenty back to make a run

You can never count Central out, but I do have to ask even with a lot of young talent did they get much experience because Central was a very Senior laden team last year (Not counting blowout wins etc...) Did any young talent contribute to the teams success? I honestly do not know so I figured I would ask.DragonsDoExist wrote:Don't count Central out. Re: Woodring to Tyrone
I saw the article.. He compared the group to the '04 group... I don't know if I'd go that far... But the group of linemen and Lb remind me of the linemen on our 96 team... Not real big but strong quick and athletic... They will have to develope the passing game but should run at will on anyone.jayjay6218 wrote:I kind of got that out of the article about Wilson. Kenn Vandevander the head coach of the Tyrone Raiders was one of the 3 finalists for the Glendale HC job. He has been coaching youth football in Tyrone for going on 10 seasons.

Re: Woodring to Tyrone
96? Didn't you guys make it to the State Title Game vs Mt. Carmel that year? Will they have help developing the Pass Attack this year. Let's face it their passing game wasn't "dynamic" to say the least over the past 2 seasons. Will it get better or should we expect more of the same?Eaglealum wrote:I saw the article..
