Stempniak was such a good acquisition, I am just baffled at how this guy is playing. Interested to see how Kunitz plays tonight, Detroit should be a little more challenging for him so tonight will be a true test for how his condition really is

Another sluggish first period and 3 unlucky bounces was the difference tonight, not skill. Not the end of the world by any means for Pittsburgh other than it puts them further away from the coveted one seed that they deserve. Yes they came out slow (AGAIN!) but there's a positive I take from this, they scored three unanswered goals, this is the second time they did that in the past 4 games ( the other being the home bounce against Philly) this tells me that they can turn it on when they want. Which means they need to convert that to all 3 periods instead of digging themselves into a hole in the 1st and having to come back like they seem to be making a consistent thing. One more thing, address the short handed freaking chances/goals!! Tired of biting my nails every power play thinking they are going to give up another one

Um they didn't score 3 goals in a row against Philly.... Pens had 4 + minutes of power play time in regulation and they couldn't win!

Konjo, yes they did? They scored 2 unanswered goals in the second period on Philly? So you are going to make it seem like a blowout? It was 4-3 in a back in forth game where the penguins didn't have two of their top 5 scorers. Philly got the win and I respect that, but don't act like they are out of this world better than Pittsburgh. No one makes that comment to you on the flip side. And here's a little piece of advice, before you try to be condescending with all your "ums" and fillers like that, make sure you actually watch the games or look at stat sheets.

I went back and read my statement and realized I said "they scored three unanswered goals against the wings, this is the second time they did that..." I see that I didn't clarify how many they scored against Philly in the first statement, but that's besides the point, they still scored multiple unanswered goals in a row against Philly and that was my point. I do apologize for not being more clear but I do not go back on my statement.

I did watch that game last night.... Pittsburgh was down 2-0 and Took advantage of a lucky bounce and penalties to get a 3-2 lead after 2. They then gave up the lead and fell behind on 1 good goal and one flukey weak one. Adams tied it up with a goal at the neg with 531 left. Then with like 420 something Detroit took a 5 minute major penalty against the pens and that top power play couldn't even get 1 goal against a beat up Detroit team. and i never acted like the flyers were better than the pens... You just said up top thats the second time they scored 3 unanswered goals from behind.

Also you guys pretty much have lost the #1 seed in the last 4 games. You do have a chance to get it but Pens schedule is much tougher than bruins plus the pens are not playing their best while the bruins are.

Or you can just go on NHL.com and look up box scores like you did right there. I said they scored goals that were unanswered, did the penguins not score unanswered goals against the flyers in that game? And it's funny that you are down talking pittsburghs power play and saying it couldn't score on a "beat up" Detroit team, you might be right about that but I find it funny how Philly could barely scrape by with a win against Pittsburgh when they were "beat up" without two of their stars. But I know you, you would never bring that up konjo.

We didnt barely get By the pens without Neal and kunitz... Won each game in regulation. Lead almost the whole home and home.... And I did watch it. Had to deal with detriots annoying announcers on NHL network. Heck I was even cheering for the pens! But the problem isn't those healthy scoring forwards! The problem is you guys giving up 4 or more goals in regulations 3 of the past 4 games. We can agree those forwards do make a difference but when you can't keep goals out of the net you are going to end up trending downwards! We all know trying to go against teams like Boston in the playoffs you cant just outscore them with only offense. You'll get swept that way

As much as Letang gets put down on here, until he and MARTIN, especially, get back in some form of normalcy for them, the Pens are going to struggle. They may have some success come playoffs, but it won't be as a top seed. It also shows how much DuPuis is missed.
It ain't over until it's over.

Pens played a good game against ST Louis but this week really showed how much they depend on their powerplay. Not many 5 on 5 goals for the Pens. I don't think they will catch boston for the #1 seed but Atleast now their wildcard match up is looking like it will be weaker than the flyers or the rangers.

Flyers just need to keep doing what they did last few weeks. Get points and control the puck through defensemen. Giroux is stepping up, Mason looking potentially good, and Simmonds has really came on late.
