Re: Top 25 players in NHL
Not true at all. Crosby has been the only consistent performer for the pens in the playoffs. Malkin has a Conn Smythe but he has never quote on quote outplayed Sid.
Here's how their stats stack up:
2007: Sid- 5 points
Malkin-4
2008: Sid- 27 (he led)
Geno- 22
2009: Sid- 31
Geno- 36 (led, Conn Smythe)
2010: Sid- 19
Geno- 11
2011: both DNP
2012: Sid- 8
Geno- 8
2013: Sid- 15
Geno- 16
Malkin has Crosby in two years. The rest go to Crosby and most by a wide margin. The only reason Sid did not win a Conn in 2008 was because his team did not win. It was clear to everybody who the MVP of those playoffs was.

Typical Konjo..... something backed up by stats (his favorite) and he is nowhere to be seen with some sort of illogical off the wall rebuttal.
So far this year Malkin is leading Sid 10-7 but I'll bet Konjo a Snickers bar those #'s are fairly even when it's all said and done.

Re: Top 25 players in NHL
I do admit I was wrong and thank HG for the stats. And 10-7 are pretty even at this point. I'd imagine they would stay with 1-5 points now that they are on the same line, or at least they should be.
Re: Top 25 players in NHL
Watching these playoffs, I've gained a couple things about goalies: tuukka Rask has not been impressive, johnathan quick and Carey price are the two best goalies right now and both their teams rely HEAVILY on them, same goes for Lundqvist and NYR but I think that NYR also has some good talent in front of them, minnesota and Anaheim both lack a strong netminder, Crawford thrives in the playoffs I think he is peaking adjacent to how his team is and it has been fun to watch, I'm not saying anything about Fleury that hasn't already been said, but I will just say I am very happy.

Re: Top 25 players in NHL
Confused why quick moves to 2 but somehow Crosby stayed 1? If anything Crosby should be 3 or 4 now avter finding out he was the major reason the penguins organization lost their lockerroom. No stat is worth a leader like that
Re: Top 25 players in NHL
I'm not looking to argue with you Konjo, I shared my opinion and you shared yours. We will just ignore which one goes with the popular and which one doesn't for the sake of starting another argument.

Re: Top 25 players in NHL
I actually think your top 10 is spot on. Kopitar has been playing the best in the playoffs so far. I think you could make a strong argument that he has eclipsed Johnathan Toews but I think it's a little too soon to say for sure. Maybe after the playoffs we revisit that? I like your additions of Bergeron and Benn. I do think that Steen makes a good argument, he's a good two way presence coming down the left wing. I just have one question: what do you see in Tyler Seguin? He didn't really have an astounding playoff performance...
Re: Top 25 players in NHL
Seguin did not have an all encompassing playoff and that's for sure. But the Stars took it to Anaheim in a series that was never really considered exciting. And who did they do it with? Benn, goligoski, and you guessed it: Seguin. Without those three Dallas is nothing. Honestly Dallas should have won that series. Look for Tyler to be elite next year not only in the regular season as he was this year, but also in the playoffs like he was back in Boston

Re: Top 25 players in NHL
I have my opinion about Crosby but you won't answer my question about how can a leader as Terrible as him stay #1?
My real wonder is how Patrick Kane isn't even in the top 10?
