any movie that requires 6 hours of previous footage and nearly 3000 pages of reading just to understand is a complete waste of time in my book!

I'm giving away my age just when I had all you new friends thinking I was a cool young guy, but back in '67 when I was a junior at FH, I slipped on an icy sidewalk and broke my left leg in 2 places, and the Dr. didn't want me climbing steps on crutches and taking a chance of hurting myself worse, so I was home for 3 months and was tutored in my school work. In my free time, someone bought me the"Fellowship of the Ring". It was so awe-inspiring I had to have the other 2, and then the Hobbit also. I must say it took me almost all of those 3 months to read and re-read certain passages and refer back to the maps and chronologies JRRT wrote. What a brilliant mind.
