Jordan Whitehead

Post by KirkHerbstreit »

Jordan Whitehead, from Central Valley High School commits tomorrow at 2:30. He is down to 4 teams

OSU - It is said they might be out of it, but I won't buy it until he commits
WVU - Dravon Henry and Russell Shell have opened a pipeline from Beaver county to WVU. I think this is where he lands
PSU - Had the last visit. There are some confident insiders on Penn State messageboards, but I think this is the first kid from PA that Franklin wants but does not get
Pitt - A Pitt insider claims he is going to Pitt. I will be surprised if he does, but Pitt does always seem to get 1 big recruit from the burgh. Not sure why a kid would commit to 4 years of the atmosphere at Heinz when the other offers are on the table but stranger things have happened.

He can start and be a superstar at Pitt. There's varying factors beyond attendance recruits entertain when choosing a college.

He can start and be a superstar anywhere if he is good enough.

Absolutely. But my point every kid is different and every college decision is different. Each campus is different, each set of academics is different, uniforms, playing time, coaching style, proximity to home, urban-rural campus, success, friendships. Each kid sees their future differently

Jordan Whitehead narrowed it to these four because they all can offer him something different.

I thought all along it would be Ohio State, but I think it will be WVU. Tony Gibson is a really good recruiter, kids seem to respond well to him. Plus the Shell-Henry connection helps. The Beaver County kids have a good connection.

I agree. I thought it'd be Ohio State until recently, but I think the connection to Shell and Henry will be too much to overcome.

Not being a "PSU" guy, I can't see why an elite back wouldn't be drawn here. As bad as the line has looked, looking at depth chart , they only have one guy above a freshmen or soph in top 3 spots at each line spot... They will be a force on the ground when these recruits will get their initial touches. Whitehead may go to WVU but someone will enjoy this.

Whitehead is being recruited as a DB not a RB.
