The current, and previous two Tribune-Democrat Sports editors are fans and graduates of the University of Pittsburgh.
"Lowly" might be generous. Wake Forest sucks, bad loss for Pitt.

Probably since the inception of the paper.El-Moldo wrote:When did the Tribune start putting such adjectives in their headlines?
Since forever.El-Moldo wrote:When is a 12-16 record of an ACC team considered lowly???
Haven't talked to him today, I'll ask him.El-Moldo wrote:And Crimson, wonder what your DAD thought about the Pitt headline today.
I've noticed that AP writers aren't always credited with their articles, not a new thing. I don't know why that is. Go to ESPN.com, and where the name of the author should be it just says "AP"El-Moldo wrote:And by the way, there was NO NAME attributed to the writer of the article. Unusual, isn't it?
Obviously WJAC is clearly biased, it is what it is. I don't really think the newspaper is biased, that's just me. The Tribune-Democrat does not physically cover Pitt or Penn State in any capacity.El-Moldo wrote: Can't understand why you can't see the local bias for PSU and against Pitt in our newspaper and TV station. It's there!!

WJAC is broadcast in State College and not Pittsburgh so it only makes sense that they would be "biased" in the amount of coverage they give one compared to the other.
You play to win the game!!!

I don't know what you mean by broadcast.
Re: College Basketball 2/23-3/1
Crimson: I know you think you're right on this, but you can't see the forest for the trees. 13 and 16 (after their defeat of Pitt) is NOT LOWLY for Wake Forest. We know that they are not an upper echelon team. But all that headline does is make Pitt's loss WORSE in the minds of sports fans. It'd like a DIG at Pitt. Would last years BM football team want to be described as lowly? The bias in this town is obvious, and you, of all the posters on this site, should see it. Again, call your DAD. Let's see what he has to say.
Re: College Basketball 2/23-3/1
The FCC breaks the country up into markets. The market geography dictates the "local" station broadcast areas. The Johnstown/Altoona/State College market is the 103rd largest market in the US. WJAC serves as the NBC affiliate for this market. Since the city of Pittsburgh is not in this market, it makes sense that they cover PSU over PItt. FWIW, both WJAC and WTAJ have local offices here in State College.
