I think by philosophy change and I'm not trying to put words in alums mouth just stating what I think also. All last year with every team blitzing straight up the middle they continued to run straight at it. They did not try to get the playmakers out in space with some screens or dump offs in the flat. They allowed the 8 9 10 in the box and ran straight ahead. Just needed to try and get the extra guys away from the line of scrimmage. Against the really good teams it killed them.

Ligonier Valley is still AA and should win the Heritage and Dist. 6 AA with 11 returners on defense and 8 on offense.

I know we are Tyrone the whole 3-4 yards and a cloud of dust. But I figured with the man calling the plays being a former qb we would start to spread it out a little maybe some up tempo the game had evolved so much time to do a little our selves.

In my opinion, with the athletes that Tyrone has on a yearly basis they need to switch to more of a Spread or Hybrid Wing-T style of offense. The Pro Style I works exceptionally well if you have a HUGE offensive line (99 & 04 Tyrone teams) or a stud at QB (11 Franco's Son) but that doesn't happen every year and the game of football is evolving away from that type of offensive attack. If I was in charge of Tyrone's offense I would run something similar to what Central or Clearfield runs and open it up a little more, especially with the playmakers you have coming up through the system. Just my opinion.

I'm a fan of opening thing up as well but you can also keep the I in your offense. If you use the pro set along with a couple of pistol or gun sets youre able to have a formation for what you want to do. The biggest question would be to be a passing team, a spread run team, spread option, traditional option or a balanced team. I like the option myself being that you can run 1 play and it gives the defense a fit on who to take along with having to account for the qb. So deoending on personal that is what i would do.

I like the idea of Tyrone spreading it out. He might be a sophomore this year but I've heard good things about the qb. Spreading it out gives you the element of keeping the defense guessing.

BUT if I had to pick one challenger on the state wide level, Clairton is still around and so is LaMont Wade.
I'd also keep an eye on Jeannette. They're a proud football program and I'm quite sure they're busting their asses as I type. In the WPIAL, it's Clairton with Jeannette, GCC, and I have no idea... Clairton's road to the WPIAL was always a meh one (well at least the past 7-8 years), but it got much easier with Neshannock, and others going to 2A. WPIAL 2A is going to be very interesting with Wash High, Neshannock, CWNC, and Steel Valley competing for the championship. in WPIAL 3A, just give that ship to Central Valley.
