Really with Homer? BG has the toughness, athleticism, and strength to battle Homer if not beat them. Think about the games in which Homer BG have played in versus quality talent. Not to mention the mental aspect in close games that stems from the football season. BG's coaching staff will have them ready and I honestly would not be surprised if they were the favorite in this game. Get outside the Heritage and WestPac and watch some basketball.

A Girls-I think Carroll and Guilfoyle are the favorites.  I think Blairsville is the only other team that has a chance.
AA Girls-McCort the favorites.  Maybe Tyrone if they get healthy or BA could knock them off.
A Boys-I agree Homer is a lot better than Guilfoyle.  I think Carroll has a better chance against them than Guilfoyle does.
AA Boys-West Branch and BA, but this field I could see a lot more upsets and possibilities in.
As far as your sleepers.  In girls' basketball Portage does play in a weak West PAC other than the couple top teams, but they do have a nice team this year with a nice balance of guards and post play.  The Heritage is also a better conference than it gets credit for (on the girls' side) so I could see them winning a game or two.

Chet is right on with his picks. I watched Homer online last night and it's obvious those kids know how to ball. I'm a West Pac guy but really think the heritage deserves more credit; both on the boys and girls sides. If you think about it on the girls side, how many D6 championships has the heritage won in just the past 15 years? More than the West Pac I know that. The boys side they compete every single year; Homer is a sustained program and will be a force in the conference for years to come. Everyone gets caught up in how good Catholic schools are but you've gotta take the blinders off and give the public schools some love too because there's some great basketball being played in not just the westPac (who often gets credit for) but the heritage too! I'm ready to watch Homer #mountup BG and anyone in their path. theyre tough! I'm with Chris Kent on Heritage girls too! LEGGO PLAYOFF BASKETBALL!

I disagree Chriskentram. BG has the size and is more athletic. Defensively sound and will make them beat them on the offensive end which I do not think they can do with their discipline

I will say Homer isn't a great offensive team, but I think the low scoring defensive game is exactly the way they want to play.  They are very patient and methodical with their offense so it does make them more susceptible to getting beat for sure.  Not saying it won't happen  I just don't think it will, because they are so long and athletic defensively other teams struggle to score even more than they will.

It will be a great matchup due to the well coached nature of both teams. Both will be over prepared and disciplined on both ends of the court.

I love how everyone just puts BG right in there against HC. If we remember, HC lost to St. Joes last year when they were highly favored, and BG is gonna have a really tough one against Ferndale
