Why doesn't Turkeyfoot merge with Rockwood? Two of the smallest PIAA schools a mere few miles apart.

Merging isn't about geography. It is about communities losing their mascot. Community pride is the road block to most merges.

I didn't see Porter's name in the write-up.  Did he get hurt or something?  It would be a shame for him to have to miss a chunk of his senior year.  I am really looking forward to watching Saltsburg this year.

I just heard that the Blairsville girls team lost last night to West Shamokin. Blairsville is the four time defending champ of the heritage and they lost to WS in their second heritage game of the season. Is this year the end of the run? I see teams like Homer Center, Marion Center, maybe Penns Manor and WS being huge hurdles in their quest for a 5th heritage championship.

I was at the game and didn't see anything noticeably wrong with Porter; no boot, cast or much of anything.  Maybe sick?  Could he be suspended?  Maybe he violated the dress code (LOL)

Rumor has it that he is ineligible because of bad grades. If that is the case he will be back Monday if his grades go up.

"Mere few miles apart"???  Their buildings are about 20 miles (road distance) from each other.

    Just watched the Bishop McCort game against Bishop Carroll. BM won 62-54. BM kids are big and quick. They had BC rattled from the start. Half way through first quarter. BC was down big 23-1 and Cosie pulled his starters wasn't happy with that effort. Put in JV kids to finish the quarter out. Starters back in to start the 2nd and it's a different ballgame. BC was down 31-17 at half. BC got it within 6 points near end of 3rd. BM was too much though. You don't see too many good loses, but this was a win for Cosie I think. The way his kids fought back was fun to watch.
