I guess Richland did exactly what they should do to that small double a school. Only because the refs helped them though, of course.Crimson's Ghost wrote:Richland 56

Actually, a Richland player traveled pretty blatantly and the refs missed it, that was bad.
A BG kid threw the ball out of bounds a few seconds later and they called it off Richland, that also was bad.

Guess you missed the calls debacle in the first game. Luckily the Lady Rangers overcame, much like the Rams.
It ain't over until it's over.

The game wasn't close that it came down to a few calls like it did in the boys game. It was pretty much well in hand for the fourth quarter. I didn't see anything egregious that happened in the girls game. What did I miss?
Re: Conference Championship Games
Numerous travels, Thomas knocking into people on drives, players stepping on the end line. All no calls, and pretty much most of the game. And both ways. A poorly officiated game by the 3 'lady' refs.

I'm not sure the fact that they were "lady refs" had anything to do with it.

Re: Conference Championship Games
I don't really think so, some do a nice job. I've been to some well-officiated games this season. I think part of the problem is some coaching staffs and fans get too caught up in the refs and beg for a lot of calls for their team, and it appears that they are doing a bad job. Sometimes, you just need to let the game happen. Worrying about the refs as much as some people do give off the idea they are doing a bad job, but in reality, you have people begging for every single call and that's just dumb. I probably do that too when I'm watching Pitt basketball, it's a natural reaction watching a sporting event to complain about the refs.say_oww wrote:Say it with me... All refs suck!
I really liked how the Bellwood coach handled himself last night. Every time there was a foul or a call and one of his players started to complain or look over to the bench, he just said, "Hey get to the spot faster." "Don't reach" "Stay straight up" Things like that. He never once complained about the refs. He coached his team, and I really liked that and respected that a lot.

Good to hear that some coaches can still handle themselves. Sounds like the opposite of Cambria Height's coach last night. Every no call should have been a foul. Every foul on the floor his player was shooting. Every shooting foul should have been a technical. It was endless, and almost every change of possession. The officiating was poor but it was poor for both sides.
